Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) shoulders the responsibility of conducting the Karnataka PGCET examination. It is a state-level examination organized to select candidates for admission to MBA/ MCA/ ME/ M. Tech/ M. Arch programmes at various government and private colleges in the state of Karnataka. Karnataka PGCET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for Karnataka PGCET 2022 are different for various courses as given below.

For MBA (Full Time)

  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree of a minimum of 3 years duration with a minimum of 50% aggregate taken together in all the subjects including languages in all the years of the Degree Examination (45% for SC, ST, and Category-I of Karnataka candidates)

For MBA (Part Time)

  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree of a minimum of 3 years duration with a minimum of 50% aggregate taken together in all the subjects including languages in all the years of the Degree Examination (45% for SC, ST, and Category-I of Karnataka candidates)
  • Applicants also need work experience of at least 3 years as on 31st July 2022.
  • The work experience must be in a company/ establishment situated within a radial distance of 40 km from the institution in which the candidate seeks admission

MCA

  • Aspirants need to have a recognized BCA / Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent Degree. Or
  • Candidates must have passed B.Sc. / B.Com / B.A. with Mathematics at 10 + 2 level or at Graduation level (with additional bridge courses as per the norms of the concerned University) and scored a minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects in all the years of the Degree Examination (45% for SC, ST, and Category-I of Karnataka candidates).

For M.E/ M.Tech/ M.Arch

  • Candidates must have a valid GATE score.
  • Aspirants should have passed qualifying examination (relevant bachelor’s degree examination) or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects in all the years of the Degree Examination (45% for SC, ST, and Category-I of Karnataka candidates).

Karnataka PGCET 2022 Application Form

Those candidates who want to apply for Karnataka PGCET 2022 examination need to fill and submit the application form in online mode. The application form will be made available on the official website of KEA i.e. kea.kar.nic.in.

  • To begin the application process, candidates are required to register on the official website as a new user.
  • In order to register, aspirants have to provide their email ID, mobile number, and other basic details.
  • After registration, a User ID and password will be generated for every candidate.
  • Next, aspirants have to log in and fill details in the main application form.
  • In the main application form, candidates are required to provide their complete educational, personal, and contact details.
  • Along with the details, applicants must upload the scanned images of the following documents.

  • It is also compulsory for all candidates to pay the necessary application fee along with the application form.

Application Fee

The application fees for Karnataka PGCET 2022 examination are as follows.

  • For General and OBC candidates: Rs. 650/-
  • For SC/ ST and Category – 1 of Karnataka candidates: Rs. 500/- 

Note: The application fees must be paid offline by submitting a challan at branches of the specified bank.

Karnataka PGCET 2022 Exam Pattern

The pattern of Karnataka PGCET 2022 examination for different courses is given below.

For MBA admission

  • Mode of examination: Offline (OMR sheet based examination)
  • Type of questions: Objective type multiple choice questions
  • Number of questions: 100
  • Duration of the examination: 150 minutes
  • Maximum marks: 100
  • Marking Scheme: Each question will carry 1 mark. There will not be any negative marking.

MCA Admission

  • Mode of examination: Offline (OMR sheet based examination)
  • Type of questions: Objective type multiple choice questions
  • Number of questions: 80
  • Duration of the examination: 150 minutes
  • Maximum marks: 100
  • Marking Scheme: 60 questions will carry 1 mark each. Similarly, 40 questions will carry 2 marks each.

M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch programs of VTU / UBDTCE and UVCE

  • Mode of examination: Offline (OMR sheet based examination)
  • Type of questions: Objective type multiple choice questions
  • Number of questions: 75
  • Duration of the examination: 150 minutes
  • Maximum marks: 100
  • Marking Scheme: 50 questions will carry 1 mark each. Similarly, 25 questions will carry 2 marks each.

Karnataka PGCET 2022 Syllabus

The syllabus of Karnataka PGCET 2022 is different for various courses. We are providing the syllabus for MBA as given below.

  • Proficiency in English Language: Synonyms, Antonyms, One-word Substitution, Idioms and phrases, Grammar, Famous Books in English Literature, Sentence Correction, Pairs expressing relationships
  • General Knowledge: Indian Business Environment, Global Environment, Social Events, Cultural Events, Economics, Management, Political Events, Historical Events, Current Affairs, Sports, Awards, Personalities and Achievements, Science and Technology, Humanities
  • Test of Reasoning and General Intelligence: Puzzles, Diagrams, Analogy, Logic, Verbal Ability, Analytical Ability, and other related aspects. 
  • Quantitative Analysis: Arithmetic, Data Analysis, and Interpretation, Statistics, Related Quantitative Aspects.

Karnataka PGCET 2022 Admit Card

  • The admit card of the Karnataka PGCET examination will release in online mode through the official website.
  • In order to download the admit card, candidates have to enter their application number and date of birth.
  • Information about date, time, and venue of the examination will be mentioned on the admit card.
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall without an admit card.
  • Along with the admit card, candidates also need to carry a photo ID proof at the time of the examination.
  • Candidates must keep the admit card safe even after the examination as it will be required at the time of admission.

Karnataka PGCET 2022 Answer key

  • The answer key of Karnataka PGCET 2022 will be published within three days after the completion of the entrance test on the KEA website.
  • Candidates can also file their objection against answer keys within three days of the publication of answer keys.
  • The final answer keys will be released only after considering all objections.
  • The result will be prepared on the basis of the final answer keys.

Karnataka PGCET 2022 Result

  • After the release of answer keys, the exam authority will declare the result on the official website.
  • To check the result, candidates are required to provide their roll number and other registration details.
  • As per the merit determined by the KEA, ranks will be assigned separately ME / M. Tech / M.Arch courses as per the norms.
  • Please note that no request for re-totalling or re-evaluation will be entertained by the university.

Karnataka PGCET Cut off

  • The cut-off marks are the minimum marks that a candidate needs to score in order to clear the Karnataka PGCET 2022 entrance examination.
  • There will be different cut-off marks for candidates applying for different courses.
  • Relaxation in cut-off marks will be given to candidates from reserved categories as per the rules.

Karnataka PGCET 2022 Counselling

  • Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) will conduct the Karnataka PGCET counselling online.
  • During the counselling process, candidates will be asked to provide their choice of college in which they want to study.
  • The allotment of seats will take place based on the Karnataka PGCET Rank obtained by candidates.
  • The admission will be confirmed only after the verification of documents and payment of admission fees.
  • Please note that the following documents will be required at the time of admission.
      • Final print out of the 2022 Online Application Form.
      • Proof for having paid the fees.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question – 1: Is it possible to submit the application form in offline mode?

Answer: No, the application form must be submitted in online mode only. 

Question – 2: Can I pay the application fee via credit card or debit card?

Answer:  No, all candidates must pay the application fee via bank challan only. 

Question – 3: I am not satisfied with my result. Can I apply for the rechecking of my OMR sheets?

Answer: No, KEA will not accept any request for re-checking or re-evaluation.

Question – 4: Can I apply for the MCA course in part-time mode if I have relevant work experience?

Answer:  Please note that the university doesn’t offer MCA course in part-time mode.
