Karnataka Diploma CET 2021: Online Application, Eligibility, Important Dates

Karnataka Diploma CET 2021: Karnataka Examination Authority, Government of Karnataka will organize Karnataka Diploma Common Entrance Test (KD CET) for admission to 2nd year / 3rd semester in B.E/B.tech and 1st year to Architecture courses. Interested candidates have to submit the Karnataka Diploma CET 2021 Application Form to appear in the exam before the due date.

Karnataka Diploma CET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must satisfy prescribed eligibility criteria before applying for the entrance exam.

Educational qualification

  • Candidates seeking admissions to B.E/B.Tech Courses at Day Engineering College should have done diploma examination or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for candidates belonging to SC/ST and Backward classes of Karnataka) in total in the final year.
  • Candidates seeking admissions to B.E/B.Tech Courses at Evening Engineering College should have done diploma examination or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for candidates belonging to SC/ST and Backward classes of Karnataka) in total and at least two years of work experience in a Company /registered firm or industry.
  • Candidates who want admission to Arch Course needs to qualify any Diploma examination or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks (40% for candidates belonging to SC/ST and Backward classes of Karnataka) aggregate along with 40% marks in NATA conducted by Council of Architecture.

Age limit

  • The candidates should be at least of 17 years of age

Citizenship

  • Candidate should be an Indian Citizen and must be a resident of Karnataka who hold the domicile certificate.

Application Form: How to apply?

Candidates can apply KD CET online only. The application process of Karnataka Diploma CET will involve two phases:

Phase 1

  • First visit official website http://kea.kar.nic.in and click on “DCET-2021 UG Online Application”
  • Now you have to register yourself by entering required information in registration form. After successful registration candidate will receive login credentials on their registered email address, mobile number and same will be appeared on the computer screen.
  • Use the same credentials in order to access application form.
  • After the successful login you will find “Student information” link, in which you have to start providing the required information.
  • Once the candidates have completed fill up process, they will have to save the entries made by them.
  • The candidates will enter the all the study details and select “save and next” button.
  • After that upload the scanned image of your recent Photograph, signature, and Left Hand Thumb Impression, Parent Signature
  • Click on “save and next” button.

Second Phase:

Here you’ve to click on Submit button and proceed for application fee payment process and select the bank challan, download it and take the printout of same and make the payment in the respective bank.

  • After completing the fill in process you will receive an application ID and Password to email address specified by you in registration form and also the same will appear on the screen.
  • Now upload the scanned copy of recent passport size Photograph and Signature in prescribed format separately.
  • Candidates have to take the printout of the Challan copy and submit an amount of Rs. 650/ (Rs.500/- for SC/ ST Category).
  • Submit the required fee in any of the branch of specified banks. The bank will keep bank copy of the Challan respectively and give up the remaining two copies of the Challan to the applicants.
  • Take the print out of application form for future use.

Admit Card

The admit card will be available to download from the month of July 2021 tentatively at the official website by providing the name or the registration number/roll no that is being given to the candidates.

Exam Pattern

  • Duration of exam will be three hours.
  • The exam will consist of a total of 180 marks.
  • The question paper will be comprised of Multiple Choice type questions with having 4 alternate options.
  • The paper will be conducted in different versions.
  • The paper will contain subjects like applied Sciences (40 marks), applied Mathematics (40 marks) and engineering group for all diploma courses studied (100 marks)
  • Each question will carry 1 mark

Result

The authority will prepare a separate merit list of candidates for admission to B.E/ B.Tech /B.Arch courses for Day and Evening Engineering Colleges. The merit list will be made on the basis of the scores obtained in the Diploma Common Entrance Test‐2021 and total marks scored in the final year (Fifth and Sixth Semester) of the Q.E on equal weightage.

  1. Sir I wrote dcet in 2018 at Karnataka and got 629 ranking…and got PESU college in option entry…I did my admission in the PESU..but unfortunately I couldn’t adjust over there…I planning to go for vtu college next year…so can i write dcet once again in 2019

    • you can and there is no age limit to get admission. but minimum of 45% marks (40% for candidates belonging to SC/ST and Backward classes of Karnataka) in total in the final year. i am also writing this year it’s been 7 Years after my diploma
