WB SET 2023 Eligibility Criteria
The following eligibility criteria need to be fulfilled by the candidates hoping to appear for WB SET 2023:
- Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in master’s degree or equivalent examination from universities/ institutions recognized by UGC are eligible for this test.
- The candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC category need to secure 50% marks in their master’s degree or equivalent exam.
- PhD degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) will also be eligible for a relaxation of 5% marks in qualifying exam.
- Candidates who are pursuing their master’s degree or have appeared for the master’s degree final year exam but are awaiting result or whose result has been delayed can also apply.
Exemption from SET
- The candidates who have passed the UGC/ CSIR JRF examination prior to 1989 are exempted from appearing in NET/SET.
- Candidates who have cleared the State Eligibility Test accredited by UGC held prior to 1st June 2002 are exempted and are eligible to apply for Assistant Professor anywhere in India.
WB SET 2023 Application Form
The application form for WB SET 2023 will be released on the official website of West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) www.wbcsc.org.in. Candidates who fulfill the eligibility requirements for appearing in the test can fill and submit their application form through online mode.
- The candidates need to provide their basic personal details such as name, date of birth, gender, community, etc into the form.
- Details related to the master’s degree such as passing year, marks obtained, name of university, etc will also be asked into the application form.
- Photograph and signature of the candidates in scanned format will also be uploaded into the application form.
- After all the details are entered into the application form, the candidates can submit before the last prescribed date.
- A printout of the duly filled application form should be taken and kept safe by the candidates for future reference.
- The candidates are advised not to send hard copy of the application or any other document to the commission office.

To complete the process of application, the candidates also need to make payment of the specified application fee. Payment of the application fee can be done using debit card/ credit card/ net banking

WB SET 2023 Admit Card
- The admit card of the candidates will be released online tentatively in the month of December 2022.
- Candidates will be able to download their admit card from the official website of WBCSC and should carry it with them to the exam center.
- In the absence of the admit card and id proof, the candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.
- Basic details of the candidates like name, roll number along with details of the exam such as center, date and time will be printed on the admit card.
- The candidates must preserve the admit card till they are granted their eligibility certificate.
