WB TET 2023 Eligibility Criteria
The candidates should meet the eligibility criteria prescribed below for appearing in WB TET 2023:
For primary teacher (class 1 to 5):
Candidates with any of the following qualifications can apply for WB Primary TET:
- Senior secondary or equivalent exam with minimum 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Senior secondary or equivalent exam scoring at least 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE
- Senior secondary or equivalent exam with not less than 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education
- Senior secondary or equivalent exam with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
- Graduation degree scoring minimum 50% marks and B.Ed degree
For upper primary teacher (class 6 to 8):
Candidates with any of the following qualifications can apply for WB Upper Primary TET:
- Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education degree in accordance with the NCTE Regulations
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education) degree
- Senior secondary or equivalent exam scoring at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education
- Senior secondary or equivalent exam with 50% marks in minimum and 4-year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed
WB TET 2023 Application Form
The candidates can fill the WB TET application form 2023 through online mode. Application form can be obtained from the official website of West Bengal Board of Primary Education www.wbbpe.org.
- In the application form, the candidates will have to provide basic details of their personal and academic life.
- Photograph and signature of the candidates also need to be uploaded in the application form in scanned format.
- Candidates also need to provide the choice for paper and exam city for appearing in TET.
- After providing all the details into the application form, the candidates can submit it online with the required fee.
- A printout of the application form should be taken by the candidates and kept with them for their own reference.
- There is no need to send the printout of the form or any other document to the board.
Application fee:
- The application fee for general category candidates is expected to be Rs. 100 and for reserved category, Rs. 25/-.
- Payment of the fee can be done through online mode using facility of internet banking or debit/ credit card.

Admit Card
- The admit card for the WB TET exam will be released online a few weeks before the commencement of the exam.
- Candidates will be able to download the admit card from the official website. A printout of the same should be taken after downloading.
- The candidate must carry the printout while reporting for the exam as only those with a valid admit card will be allowed entry in the exam hall.
- No admit card will be sent to the candidates via post, courier, fax or any means other than online.
- The candidates are advised to preserve their admit card till they obtain the eligibility certificate.
WB TET Result 2023
- The result of the eligibility test will be declared through online mode and can be checked from the official website.
- Candidates who are declared as qualified in the test will be awarded an eligibility certificate.
- However, before providing the certificate, the board will verify the documents and eligibility of the candidates.
- Those awarded with the certificate can apply for the post of primary and upper primary teachers in the schools of the West Bengal state.

Details of the exam center where you have to appear for your TET exam will be mentioned in your admit card along with the date and time.
The candidates can appear for TET exam as many times as per their wish to clear it or to enhance their score.
It is expected that the board will allow only those candidates with age between 18 and 35 years to appear for the WB TET exam.
Without admit card, you will not be able to appear for the exam. As such it is advised to keep multiple copies of the admit card with you to protect it from loss or damage.
No direct employment is offered to the candidates on the basis of TET exam. Qualified candidates need to apply for the post of teacher in different schools on their own.
