UPTET 2024: Syllabus, Application Form, Exam Pattern, Exam Date

Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test 2024 or UPTET 2024 is going to be a state-level test to be conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB). The aim of this exam is to determine the eligibility of the candidates looking to apply for the posts of primary teachers (classes I-V) and upper primary (junior) teachers (classes VI-VIII) in schools of Uttar Pradesh. In order to apply for the UPTET exam, candidates have to fill and submit the application form in online mode. All the necessary details regarding the UPTET 2024 are provided in this article.

UPTET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

UPTET 2024 is different for primary and upper-primary level teachers.

Age Limit

• The age of a candidate should be between 18 to 35 years
• OBC category candidates will get a relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit.
• Candidates from SC/ ST and PwD category will get a relaxation of 5 years and 10 years respectively.

Primary level teachers

• The candidate must be a graduate with two years diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). or
• Aspirants should be graduate with Basic Training Certificate (BTC) or
• The applicants must have a graduation or post-graduation degree with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree from NCTE recognized institution. or
• The candidate must be a graduate from a UGC recognized university/ institute with at least 45% marks. Plus, aspirants should also have a B.Ed. degree. Or.
• Candidates should have a UGC recognized institute/ university and special BTC training. Or
• The aspirant must have a UGC recognized institute/ university and 2 years special BCT Urdu training in Uttar Pradesh. Or.
• Applicants with Graduation from a UGC-recognised University/Institution + Diploma in Teaching (For Urdu Teacher) from Aligarh Muslim University are also eligible.

Upper primary level teachers

• The candidate must have completed Graduation/Post-Graduation from a UGC-recognised University/Institution + 2 years Diploma in EL. Education (D.El.Ed) – BTC. Or
• Aspirants with Graduation/Post-Graduation from a UGC-recognised University/Institution with minimum 50% marks + B.Ed from NCTE recognised institution. Or
• Candidates who have completed Graduation/Post-Graduation from a UGC-recognised University/Institution with a minimum of 45% marks + B.Ed are eligible. Or
• The applicants should have completed Graduation/ Post-Graduation from a UGC-recognised University/Institution with minimum 50% marks + 2-years B.Ed/ Special B.Ed. Or
• Those aspirants who have completed a 4 years BA.B.Ed/ B.A.Ed after completing 10+2 with 50% marks are also eligible. Or
• Those aspirants who have completed a 4 years B.Sc.Ed/ B.Sc. B.Ed. after completing 10+2 with 50% marks are also eligible. Or

UPTET 2024 Application Form

The application process of UPTET 2024 will take place in online mode only. Interested and eligible candidates should check the application process explained below.

• First of all, the candidates need to visit the official website i.e. www.updeled.gov.in.
• Then, aspirants have to register by providing some of their basic details like name, email ID, and phone number.
• Once registered, candidates are required to login and enter their complete educational, personal, and contact details.
• Next, candidates have to upload the scanned images of their photograph and signature.
• Details that the candidates will enter in the application form should be accurate. Otherwise, the candidature will be rejected at the time of the document verification.
• After submitting the form and uploading the images, candidates have to pay the necessary application fee.
• The confirmation page will be generated after the submission of the form.
• It is advised to take a printout of the application form generated and fee receipt for future references.

Application Fee   

The application fee for the candidates of different categories are as follows.

Mode of payment: The application fee can be paid online using a credit card/ debit card or internet banking. Alternatively, the fee can also be paid offline using a bank challan.

UPTET 2024 Admit Card

• The authorities will make the UPTET 2024 admit card available online via official website.
• Candidates will be able to download their admit cards by providing their registration number, and date of birth.
• Important information like date, time, and venue of the examination will be mentioned on the admit card.
• No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall without a valid admit card
• In addition to this, it is also compulsory to carry a photo ID proof at the time of the examination.

The candidates who are preparing for the UP TET exam should know the exam pattern given below.

• Number of questions: 150 questions
• Duration of exam: 2 hours 30 minutes

UPTET 2024 Result

• Those candidates who will appear for the UPTET 2024 examination will be able to check the result online.
• Before the result declaration, authorities will also publish answer keys on the official website.
• Candidates will be asked to enter their roll numbers in order to check the result.
• Those aspirants who will score more than qualifying marks will be declared successful.
• Candidates need to score at least 90 marks in order to be declared successful.
