UPSC IFS 2019: Candidates, who want to love forestry and want to make their career in the field, can apply for the Indian forest services (IFS). Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) releases the official notification for IFS. It will be necessary for the candidates to take part in the Civil Services Pre-examination 2019 and qualify the same to be eligible for the IFS Mains Exam 2019. The official notification for the IFS 2019 will be released on 19th February 2019. After qualifying the Mains examination, candidates will have to qualify the interview as well to get their name enlisted among the successful candidates. Eligibility Criteria for UPSC IFS 2019
The IFS Eligibility criteria have been given in the following points:
- All Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the UPSC IFS 2019.
- Candidate must have done graduation in any of the following subjects: Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Geology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics and Zoology, Agriculture or Forestry or in Engineering from a recognized university or Institute.
- The age of the applicants must not less than 21 years and more than 32 years.
- Candidates of the reserved category will be provided relaxation in the upper age. The age relaxation in the upper age will be 3 years for OBC applicants and 5 years for the SC and ST applicants.
Number of attempts for UPSC IFS
In general, the eligible candidate can appear 6 times this in this exam. However, this limit is exceeded to 9 times for candidates belonging to OBC category. There will be no any attempt limit for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe.
The General category candidate who falls under Person with Benchmark disability will get 09 attempts.
UPSC IFS Application Form 2019
Candidates need to fill and submit the IFS Application Form 2019 as according to the details given below in the points:
- The IFS application form will be available on the official website of UPSC.
- The official website of UPSC is ‘www.upsc.gov.in’.
- Candidates need to provide all the details in the IFS application form.
- Candidates, who qualify the pre exam (Civil services Pre Exam 2019) will be required to fill the detailed application form (DAF) in the month of August/September 2019 for IFS Mains.
- Moreover, there will be an application fee of Rs. 100 for submitting the application form.
- Candidates of the reserved category (SC and ST category) will not be required to pay any application fee.
There will be two stages of the UPSC IFS Exam 2019 viz., Pre and Mains. There will be a common exam for the IFS Pre exam 2019 and Civil services Pre exam 2019. After qualifying the IFS Pre exam, candidates will have to apply for the IFS Mains exam. In the Mains exam, candidates will be required to appear in the English, General Knowledge and optional papers exam. Those, who qualify the IFS Mains exam 2019, will have to take part in the IFS Interview which will be conducted at Delhi. The interview will be face to face and after candidates qualify the interview, they will be posted in the cadre they have applied for.
UPSC IFS Syllabus 2019
Candidates should know UPSC Indian Forest Service Exam (IFS) 2019 Syllabus completely before starting the preparation for the exam. Syllabus for the IFS exam 2019 will be released by the UPSC. The examination will be conducted in two following stages i.e. Civil services (preliminary) and Indian forest (Main) Examination. The prelims exam is designed to analyze candidate’s understanding on current affairs and aptitude whereas IFS Main examination conducts to check candidate’s academic talent and their ability to present their knowledge in a clear and logical manner.
The eligible candidates who submitted their applications as per the prescribed format will be allowed to download the admit card. The authority will release the admit card at least 15 days before the commencement of IFS examination at UPSC official website. The admit card will not be sent via post to any candidate. UPSC IFS Admit card is an important document to be carried in exam hall. Without a valid admit card no candidates will be permitted to enter in exam center.

IFS EXAM 2019 Result
UPSC will announce the result of IFS 2019 exam through online mode after the successful completion of the exam. Candidates can check their result online from the official website. Those who will clear the preliminary exam will be called for further IFS (Mains) examination. The result of the UPSC IFS Preliminary examination, Main Examination and interview round will be made available by the UPSC on time.
