Candidate should,
- hold nationality of India; Or,
- be a subject of Bhutan; Or,
- be a subject of Nepal; Or,
- be of Indian origin but migrated either from East African countries of Kenya, Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam; Or,
- Be among Tibetan refugees who came across the country in prior of the 1st January, 1962 for permanent settling over here.
Age Criteria
Age norms for Geologist and Geophysicist and Chemist (Group ‘A’) in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines: Candidates’ date of birth should fall not before than 2nd January 1989 and not after than 1st January, 2000.
Age norms for For Jr. Hydrogeologist (Scientist B) (Group A) in Central Ground water Board, Ministry of Water Resources: Candidates’ date of birth should fall not before than 2nd January 1986 and not after than 1st January, 2000.
Is there any age relaxation for reserved category candidates?
- For Ex-servicemen category candidates: 5 Years;
- For Scheduled caste/Scheduled tribal: 5 years;
- For OBC: 3 years;
- For Deaf-mute, Blind and Orthopaedically disabled category applicants: 10 years;
Educational Criteria
Educational norms for Geologists Group ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India: Candidates should have obtained Master’s degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo-Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Marine Geology or Oceanography and Geochemistry or Geological Technology or Coastal Area Studies or Petroleum Geosciences or Petroleum Exploration or Geophysical Technology.
Educational norms for Chemists Group ‘A ‘ in Geological Survey of India: Candidates should hold a recognized M.Sc degree in Analytical Chemistry or Chemistry or Applied Chemistry.
Educational norms for Geophysicists Group ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India: Candidates should hold a recognized M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics) or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or M.Sc Physics or M.Sc (Geophysics) degree.
UPSC Combined Geoscientist and Geologist Exam 2021 Application Form
Interested and eligible candidates can access the application form by following the official admission portal of the Union Public Service Commission on the notified date. Applications, which are submitted after the mentioned deadline, won’t be accepted by the authority under any circumstances.
Candidates have to make payment of Rs.200/- as application fee. If you fall under the category of SC/ST/PH/Female then you are exempted from making payment of fee. The prescribed payment mode is either through debit card/Credit card/ net banking or in cash at any SBI branch.
