UPSC CMS 2023: Application Form (19 April), Exam Date, Eligibility Criteria

Selection of the candidates for vacancies like Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways, Junior Scale Posts in Central Health Services, etc will be done on the basis of CMS exam conducted by the UPSC. The application form for the exam will be released 19th April 2023. The selection test will be followed by personality test. UPSC CMS 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria prescribed below should only apply for the UPSC CMS 2023 exam:

Nationality:

The candidate must be either a:

  • Citizen of India, or
  • Subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
  • Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling, or
  • Person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling.

Age limit:

  • The maximum age of the candidate should be less than 32 years as on 1st August 2023.
  • Relaxation in the decided limit will be given as per the rules mentioned below.

ECOs/ SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of 5 years Military Service as on 1st August 2023 and whose assignment has been extended beyond 5 years and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issue a certificate that they can apply for civil employment and that they will be released on 3 month’s notice on selection from the date of receipt of offer of appointment 5 years
Ex-Servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/ SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as on 1st August 2023 and have been released on completion of assignment (or will be completed within one year from 1st August, 2023) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency, or on account of physical disability attributable to Military Service or on invalidment 5 years
PWD candidates 10 years

Academic qualification:

  • A pass in the MBBS degree examination, written and practical both, is required.
  • Candidates in the final year of their MBBS degree can apply too but they will be considered for selection only if they clear the exam before the selection process begins.

Physical and Medical Standards:

Candidates must be physically and medically fit according to the physical/ medical standards for the Combined Medical Services Examination 2023.

UPSC CMS 2023 Application Form

  • Candidates can apply online for UPSC CMS 2023 by visiting the official website of the commission upsconline.nic.in.
  • The candidates will be asked to provide their basic personal and academic details to fill the application form.
  • Scanned copies of candidates’ photograph and signature should also be uploaded into the application form.
  • Applicants will be required to provide their choice for exam city into the application form.
  • Care should be taken while filling the application form as any kind of incorrect information can make it liable for rejection.
  • Once all the details are entered into the form, the candidates can submit it along with the prescribed application fee.
  • A printout of the application form should be taken and kept by the candidates in case of future reference.

Application fee:

  • The application fee for the CMS exam will be Rs. 200/- except for SC/ ST/ PWD/ female candidates who are exempted from fee payment.
  • Payment can be done online using credit card/ debit card/ SBI net banking or offline through Pay-in slip generated during registration.

Detailed Application Form (DAF)

  • After the declaration of the CMS exam result, the successful candidates need to fill a Detailed Application Form (DAF).
  • Important details related to the candidates along with their preference for posts will be asked in the DAF.
  • The candidates need to send the printout of the form with each page duly signed along with the self attested copies of the important certificates to the Commission.
  • Call letter for the interview will be released for the candidates who submit the DAF in time.

Admit Card

  • The UPSC CMS admit card 2023 will be made on the commission’s website around two weeks before the exam.
  • Candidates will be able to download their online admit card using their basic registration details.
  • After downloading, the candidates need to take a printout of the admit card. To avoid loss or damage, taking multiple printouts is suggested.
  • The candidates reporting to the exam center must carry the printout of the admit card with them along with a valid id proof.
  • No candidates will be allowed to enter the examination hall in case of absence of these documents.

UPSC CMS 2023 Result

  • The result of the CMS exam will be published online on the official website of the commission.
  • Candidates who clear the written exam will then have to appear for the personality test round.
  • A merit list of the candidates who qualify the interview round as well will be prepared by the authorities.
  • Candidates with their names in this list will be considered for final selection to the Combined Medical Services.

Question 1: Will the commission refund the application fee if I withdraw the application?

Answer: No. You can surely withdraw your application without any trouble but you will not be granted refund on the application fee submitted along with the application form.

Question 2: Can I fill my application form through offline mode?

Answer: The application form can be filled and submitted only through online mode. The DAF, however, should be sent to the commission via offline mode.

Question 3: Whom should I contact in case of any query?

Answer: In case of any query, the candidates can contact UPSC’s Facilitation Counter near Gate ‘C’ of its campus in person or over phone through numbers 011-23385271/ 011-23381125/ 011-23098543 on working days between 10:00 hrs and 17:00 hrs.

Question 4: What documents can I carry as valid identity proof?

Answer: Documents like Aadhaar Card, Voter Card, PAN Card, Passport, Driving License or Any other Photo ID Card issued by the State/ Central Government can be carried as an identity proof. Make sure that you carry the same document the details of which you provided in the application form.

Question 5: How will I know what exam center is allotted to me?

Answer: Details of the exam center will be mentioned in your admit card. You must appear for the exam at the center printed there. No request for change of centre will be considered.
