TNTET Exam Pattern 2023: Exam Pattern for Paper I and II

Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board is going to conduct a written examination very soon in 2023. The name of this written examination is Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test 2023. The authority has not yet released the notification for the examination, however, we have come up with the details here.

Here we will discuss the examination pattern which is an important section of TNTET. Every applicant appearing for the entrance examination must aware of the pattern of examination. It will brief you about the question paper and all the relevant information of the examination.

TNTET Exam Pattern 2023

TNTET will be held in 2 papers- Paper I & Paper II. The Paper I & II will be held in June 2023. Hence we have provided the TNTET Exam pattern 2023 for both the paper (Paper I & Paper II) so that you can plan your study accordingly.

TNTET Exam Pattern 2023- Paper I   

The TNTET Exam pattern 2023 for Paper I is as follows-

  • The question paper of Paper I will have a total of 150 questions of MCQ type. This is the objective method of questions in which 4 options will be given and the applicants will have to choose the correct answer.
  • The applicants will be given 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete Paper I. There will be no extra time provided to finish the question paper.
  • The total marks to score will also be 150.
  • In Paper I the questions will be asked from these areas- Mathematics, English, Environmental Science, Child Development & Pedagogy and Language I (Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada/Urdu).
  • The distribution of marks & the questions between all the sections of Paper I are given below.

TNTET Exam pattern 2023- Paper II

The examination pattern for Paper II of the written examination is as follows-

  • The duration of Paper II is also limited to 1 hour & 30 minutes. All the applicants must complete their examination within the given time period as any kind of time extension will not be given.
  • Paper II will also consist of total 150 questions of MCQ type. The method of answering the questions will also be same as Paper I.
  • The total marks assigned for Paper II of TNTET will also be 150.
  • Paper II will cover these topics- Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I (Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada/Urdu) and English.
  • The distribution of marks & the questions between all the sections of the Paper I are given below.

Marking Scheme- TNTET Exam Pattern 2023

In the marking scheme, we will brief you the pattern of marks to be given for each correct answer. As per the decision made by the examination authority, every correct answer will award you 1 mark.

Now you may think about the marks to be deducted as a penalty for the wrong answer. So you will feel relaxed to know that there will be no deduction for wrong answers or questions not attempted as there is no negative marking.

Instructions to be followed for entering the examination hall- TNTET Exam Pattern 2023

As per the guidelines of the examination authority, there are some instructions set by them. All the appearing applicant must have followed these instructions in order to attend the examination. These instructions are-

  • All the applicants must bring their admit cards along with a photo ID proof at the examination centre. Your entry will not be allowed without admit card.
  • The applicants have to present at the examination venue minimum half-an-hour prior to the examination.
  • Any kind of electronic devices will not be entertained in the examination hall such as calculator, cell phones, digital watches, pagers etc.
  • The applicants will not be allowed to leave the examination hall until the examination is completed.
  • The applicants cannot mark more than one answer for a single question.
