Staff Selection Commission conducts ‘JE’ Examination every year for the posts of Junior Engineers (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Quantity Surveying and Contract). Candidates of engineering background, if are willing to apply for the JE examination, they need to follow and fulfill all the conditions of eligibility decided by SSC.
Here, candidates have been provided with all the details about the eligibility criteria regarding Junior Engineer (JE) Examination-
Nationality/Citizenship of the Applicants-
A candidate must be either
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Age Criteria/Limitation
SSC has decided the different age criteria for the posts of ‘junior engineers’ in various departments. Candidates will be appointed in various departments as shown in the table below and their age should be between the parameters as provided-

Note for the Candidates-
Candidates who don’t have the minimum educational qualification as mentioned in the table above; need not apply for the Junior Engineer Examination; despite they do so, their application will be rejected.
