SSC JE 2018: Exam Dates, Application Form, Eligibility Criteria

SSC JE 2018 recruitment notification for Junior Engineer will be announced on 1st September 2018. After qualifying this test, candidates will be given appointment as Junior Engineering in several Government departments. Candidates are instructed to read this article in order to find all related information on SS JE recruitment 2018 including eligibility criteria, application form, exam dates, exam pattern etc.

Eligibility Criteria for SSC JEE 2018

Here eligibility criteria signify that candidates will have to meet with following educational, age and nationality criteria:

Junior Engineer(QS&C) MESCandidates who have cleared three years duration Diploma or Intermediate exam in Building and Quantity Surveying Sub Divisional -II from the institute of Surveyors (India).
Junior Engineer (Mechanical and Civil), Central Water CommissionDegree or Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering

Age Criteria

  • Junior Engineer (Electrical, Civil & Mechanical), CPWD and Central Water Commission: Candidates’ age should not be exceeding than 32 years.
  • Junior Engineer (Civil & Electrical), MES : Candidates’ age should be in between 18 to 27 years.
  • Junior Engineer (Electrical, Civil & Mechanical), MES: Should not be more than 30 years.
  • Age relaxation norms will be three for reserved category candidates according to the Government rules.

SSC JE 2018 Application Form

Candidates can obtain SSC JE application form in online mode by visiting the official admission portal of Staff Selection Commission. After completion of form filling process, candidates need to go to either online or offline mode for making payment of application fee amounting Rs.100/-.

Online payment can be done thru credit card, debit card or net banking and in case of offline mode candidates need to make payment thru SBI e-challan.

Exam Pattern

Here are the important details associated to SSC JE exam pattern, please have a look:

  • JE written exam will contain two papers i.e. Paper 1 and 2.
  • There will three parts of Paper 1 i.e. General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Engineering and General Awareness.
  • There will three parts of General Engineering namely Civil & Structural (Part A), Electrical (Part B) and Mechanical (Part C).
  • All questions are to be asked of objective type only and it will of 200 marks. Candidates will find 2 hours of time in order to solve the question paper.
  • There will be negative marking rule in Paper 1 i.e. 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect response.
  • Paper 2 will be conventional type and it will contain three parts. Candidates are required to attempt only one part according to their applied JE post.

Selection Procedure

Candidates’ selection will depend upon their overall performance in Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 will be objective type test whereas; Paper 2 will be conventional type test.

Admit Card

The Staff Selection Commission is not responsible to send admit card through the post. Candidates are instructed to download their respective admit card by visiting the official web portal of Staff Selection Commission. Under no circumstances, candidates will be further invited to take the exam.

SSC JE 2018 Result

The Staff Selection Commission will first release exam result of Paper 1 and subsequently for paper 2. Candidates, who have succeed in Paper 2, only those will be given appointment for Junior Engineer post. It’ll be only possible to check out the result of candidates thru the official admission portal of SSC.
