The SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria: involves certain minimum criteria that a candidate must fulfill in order to be eligible for SSC CHSL Exam. These eligibility criteria are mandatory for every candidate, failing which they’ll not be allowed to appear for the exam. Candidates can seek their respective eligibility status by going through this article. We’ll leave no information untouched so that candidates can avail maximum benefit from it. SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

A candidate must be a –

  1. Citizen of India, or
  2. Subject of Nepal, or
  3. Subject of Bhutan, or
  4. A Tibetan refugee who came to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  5. A person of Indian origin(PIO) who have migrated from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, East African Countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Malawi, Zambia, Ethiopia, Zaire, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Note:

  • Candidates from category 2, 3, 4 and 5 (mentioned above) will need to produce the certificate of eligibility from the Government of India.
  • Candidates from Category 2, 3, 4 and 5 will be allowed to appear for the exam but for the offer of appointment, they will need to produce the certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

Age Limit

A candidate must be a minimum of 18 years old and a maximum of 27 years old as on 01.08.2022 to be qualified to take the exam.

Note: Candidates born not before 02-08-1995 and not later than 01-08-2004.

Educational Qualification (As on 1st August 2022)

  • A candidate must have passed class 12th or its equivalent examination from a recognized Board/University.
  • A candidate must have passed class 12th in Science stream with Mathematics as a compulsory subject from a recognized Board or its equivalent for the post of Data Entry Operator in the office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG).

Ex-Servicemen 3 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the closing date.

Central Govt. Civilian Employees (SC/ ST) who have rendered not less than 3 years regular and continuous service as on closing date for receipt of application Up to 45 Years
Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989 5 Years

Widows/ Divorced Women/ Women judicially separated and who are not remarried

Up to 35 Years
Widows/ Divorced Women/ Women judicially separated and who are not remarried (SC/ ST) Up to 40 Years

Defence Personnel disabled in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof

Service Clerks in the last year of their color service in the Armed Forces

Up to 45 Years
Service Clerks in the last year of their color service in the Armed Forces (SC/ ST) Up to 50 Years
Retrenched census employees of the Office of Registrar General of India (They will be considered only for offices under RGI in their order of merit and subject to availability of vacancies)

3 years plus length of service rendered by them in connection with census, before retrenchment, and Weightage of past service

Note: Reservation and age relaxation will not be permitted to sons, daughters, and dependents of ex-servicemen.

Certificates required

  • Candidates seeking Age-Relaxation will need to submit their respective Category Certificate to the Regional/Sub-Regional office during the Skill Test/Document Verification otherwise their candidature will be considered under Un-Reserved Category.
  • OBC Candidates seeking appointment on the basis of reservation should ensure that they possess the relevant community certificate and does not fall in creamy layer on the last date of submission of the application form.

Visually Handicapped /Cerebral Palsy Candidates

  • PH/CP Candidates can avail the help of a scribe and an additional time of 20 minutes per hour in the examination as per the request made in the application form.
  • Persons with visual disability of less than 40% will not be considered as visually handicapped persons.
  • One-eyed candidates and partially blind candidates who can read the normal Question Paper set with /without magnifying glass will be allowed to bring and use the same in the Examination Hall and will not get the assistance of a Scribe.
