SBI Bank PO exam 2021 application form is expecting to release online in the month of June 2021. The official notification in this regard will announce shortly. SBI Bank PO Exam 2021 Eligibility Criteria

The following eligibility criteria should be fulfilled by the candidates hoping to appear for SBI Bank PO Exam 2021:


  • Candidates of Indian nationality are eligible to apply. Selected candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in India.

Age limit:

  • As on 1st April 2021, the minimum and maximum age of the candidates should be 21 and 30 years respectively.

Relaxation in upper age:

Relaxation in the upper age limit will be given as follows:

Educational qualification:

  • The candidates should hold a graduation degree from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government to become eligible to apply for SBI PO 2021.
  • Candidates in the final year/Semester of their graduation degree who will pass the final exam before 31st August 2021 can apply too.
  • Those with a Chartered Accountant qualification are also eligible.

Number of attempts:

The maximum number of attempts for different category candidates is given below:

  • General candidates: 4 attempts
  • OBC and PWD (General/ OBC) candidates: 7 attempts
  • SC/SC(PWD)/ ST/ ST (PWD): No limit

SBI PO 2021 Application Form

The application form for SBI PO 2021 will be released on the official website of the bank, or careers. Candidates must have a valid email address in order to apply online and it must be kept active till the complete selection process is over.

  • The candidates can fill the application form providing their basic personal and academic details.
  • Candidates will be able to fill their application form in more than one go, if required.
  • Once they save the incomplete data in the application form, a provisional registration number and password will be generated.
  • This registration number and password should be noted down by the candidates and can be used to fill the rest details in the application form.
  • Already saved data can also be edited using this facility. However, this facility will be available only 3 times.
  • After providing all the data, the candidates can submit their application form finally. No editing will be possible thereafter.
  • The candidates will also have to upload their photograph, signature and thumb impression in the application form in scanned format.

Application fee:

  • To complete the process of application, the candidates will also have to pay the specified application fee.
  • The application fee will be Rs. 600/- for general/ OBC candidates and Rs. 100/- for SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates.
  • Submission of fee can be done only online using debit card/ credit card/ Internet Banking.

SBI PO 2021 Pattern and Selection Process

The examination will be held in two phases preliminary and main. Candidates who will qualify in preliminary examination and shortlisted will have to appear for Main examination and shortlisted candidates in the main examination will subsequently be called for a Group Discussion & Interview. Group Discussion & Interview

The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both the Objective Tests and Descriptive Test will be arranged in descending order in each category. Adequate number of candidates in each category, as decided by the Bank will be called for Group Discussion and Interview. The qualifying marks in Group Discussion &Interview will be as decided by the Bank.

Final Selection

The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for the selection and only the marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II), both in Objective Test and Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in GD & Interview (Phase-III) for preparation of the final merit list.

The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately. Marks secured by the candidates in the Written Test (out of 225 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Discussion & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25. The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating converted marks of Written Test and Group Discussion &Interview out of 100 for each category. The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.

Career Path

The Probationary Officers will be on probation of two years during which they will be given intensive training. Towards the end of their probation / training period, they will be subjected to a screening process. While those Officers who achieve the predetermined standards may be confirmed and given placement in the next higher grade i.e., Officer Middle Management Grade Scale-II, others who qualify in the test but fail to achieve the standards set for placement in Middle Management Grade Scale-II, will be confirmed as Officer Junior Management Grade Scale-I. Frequently Asked Questions

1.I am unable to find the link to apply for the new openings. Can you please help?

Answer: Please visit “Current Openings” page in Join SBI. The list of all the openings along with the link to apply will be available during the schedule as stipulated in the respective advertisements. Candidates are advised to register much before the last date to avoid last minute problems.

2. I have not received confirmation mail for registration and password.

Answer: Email/SMS is triggered and the same is sent to the candidates on the email ID and Mobile number registered by them while applying for the post. Kindly check the same.

3. I am unable to upload photo and signature.

Answer: The advertisement as well as the relevant registration page prescribes detailed guidelines for uploading the photo and signature. The preferred photo dimensions are 200 x 230 pixels and the file size should be between 20kb-50kb. The signature image should be of 140 x 60 pixels (preferred) and the size between 10kb – 20kb. Other details will be available in the advertisement which can be accessed by visiting “Current Openings” page in Join SBI.

4. What is the status of my Registration?

Answer: a) If the candidate’s registration is successful he/she has to take printout of the application form with the help of registration no. and password.
b) If candidate’s registration/ payment is not successful; Payment gateway is expected to refund the amount in due course, if any.

5. I want to change my Centre/Venue / Date /Time.

Answer: The allotted Date, Time and Venue for the exam cannot be changed as per the terms and conditions mentioned in the advertisement.

6. I am not allowed to appear for exam (Late entry, ID proof, Name mismatch).

Answer: The advertisement /notification /call letter mentions in detail about the procedures/conditions to be followed for online examination .The candidates are expected to follow these guidelines to avoid these problems.

7. My login is showing Invalid.

Answer: This indicates the details provided are not correct as per registered application. The candidates may check the result status/ scores using their correct login credentials.

8. I am not able to download my Interview call letter.

Answer: Visit official SBI recruitment website. Candidate can download call letter with the help of Registration number and Password during the stipulated period.

SBI PO Admit Card 2021

  • The admit card/ call letter along with an ‘acquaint yourself’ booklet will be released on the official website of SBI.
  • Candidates can download the admit card using their registration number and password/ date of birth.
  • The candidates must take a printout of the admit card and carry it along with a photo identity proof (original and photocopy both) to the exam center.
  • Admit card for the main exam and interview will be released separately for the eligible candidates.
  • No candidate without a valid admit card and id proof will be allowed to appear for the exam.

SBI PO 2021 Result

  • The result of all the rounds of the SBI PO 2021 exam will be declared in online mode. Candidates can check the result by visiting the official website of SBI.
  • Those qualifying the preliminary exam will be eligible for main exam. The candidates clearing both the exams will be allowed to appear for the interview round.
  • Final result will be announced after the successful completion of all the three rounds.
  • Candidates who qualify all these rounds will be considered for final recruitment.

SBI PO 2021 Interview and Selection

  • Candidates who clear both SBI PO 2021 pre and mains exam will be invited to appear for the group exercise and interview round.
  • Such candidates will be able to download their call letter from the bank’s website.
  • The applicants should appear for the interview round as per the schedule mentioned in their call letter.
  • Documents of the candidates will also be verified at the time of interview and therefore they must carry all the important documents in original while reporting for interview.
  • Those who successfully clear their interview round will be considered for selection, given other criteria are satisfied as well.
  • Appointment of selected candidates will also be the subject to their being medically fit as per the requirement of the bank.


The photocopy of the identity proof along with the call letter will be submitted by the invigilator in the exam hall.

The selected candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in India.

Appearing in preliminary exam will not be counted in the number of attempts.

Candidates are advised to print their duly filled application form and keep it safe for future use.

Biometric verification of the candidates will be done by the SBI at various stages of selection and therefore candidates are advised not to apply mehandi, ink, chemical etc. on their hands.
