Eligibility Criteria

Here are the minimum eligibility criteria required to be fulfilled by candidates in order to appear in PSTET 2023:

Eligibility for Classes I to V

  • Candidates need to obtain minimum 50% marks in Senior Secondary of its equivalent exam and finalized or appearing in last year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Or,
  • Candidates need to obtain minimum 45% marks in Senior Secondary of its equivalent exam and finalized or appearing in last year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education according to the NCTE, Regulations, 2002. Or,
  • They need to obtain minimum 50% marks in Senior Secondary of its equivalent exam and finalized or appearing in last year of four-year Bachelor in Elementary Education. Or,
  • They need to obtain minimum 50% marks in Senior Secondary of its equivalent exam and finalized or appearing in last year of two-year Diploma in Education. Or,
  • Candidates should be having Bachelor’s degree or appearing in last year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Eligibility for Classes VI-VIII

  • Candidates should be having Bachelor’s degree or appearing in last year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Or,
  • They should be having a Graduation degree along with minimum 50% marks and cleared or appearing in one-year B.Ed degree. Or,
  • They should have a Bachelor’s degree with minimum 45% marks and cleared or appearing in 1-year B.Ed, according to the norms and procedure of NCTE. Or,
  • They should have cleared Senior Secondary or its equivalent along with 50% marks and cleared or appearing in last year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education. Or,
  • They should have cleared Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with minimum 50% marks and cleared or appearing in the final year of four-year B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed. Or,
  • They should be having minimum 50% marks and cleared or appearing in one-year B.Ed.

PSTET 2023 Application Form

Candidates need to go to the official website of Punjab School Education Board i.e. https://www.pseb.ac.in/ in order to apply for PSTET 2023. Before applying for Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test, candidates first need to ensure that they are meeting with all eligibility requirements.

The application of an ineligible candidate can be cancelled at any point of time period. Therefore, it is advised to candidates to check their eligibility before they apply.

Exam Pattern

All the questions asked in PSTET will be multiple-choice questions. Every question will carry one mark along with four alternatives. Candidates need to choose the right answer from the given alternatives. No marks will be deducted for the wrong attempt. There will be two papers in PSTET:

  • First Paper: Paper I is conducted for those who want to be a teacher for classes I to V.
  • Second Paper: Paper II is conducted those who want to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

Candidates, who are interested for both the categories, they need to appear in Paper I as well as Paper II.

PSTET 2023 Result and Qualifying Marks

PSTET 2023 result will be accessible in online mode from the official website of Punjab School Education Board. In order to qualify in PSTET exam, candidates have to score at least 60% or more marks in PSTET exam. Candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST/Differently Abled category can get relaxation in marks by 5%.
