Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) shoulders the responsibility of organizing and managing the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test 2021 or PSTET 2021. Clearing the TET exam is necessary for the candidates who are looking to become a school teacher in the state of Punjab. Under the PSTET exam, two separate papers are going to be conducted for primary and upper-primary level teachers. Interested candidates who want to apply need to fill and submit the application form in online mode. All the necessary details regarding the PSTET 2021 exam are provided in this article.

PSTET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who want to apply must make sure that they meet the following eligibility criteria.

Age limit

  • There is no upper or lower age limit for PSTET 2021 examination.

Educational Qualification

For Paper – I (Class 1st to 5th teacher)

  • 12th class or equivalent exam with a minimum of 50% marks and a 2-year diploma in Elementary education (D.El.Ed). Or
  • 12th class or equivalent exam with at least 45% marks and a 2-year diploma in elementary education in accordance with NCTE. Or
  • Class 12th or equivalent examination with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor of elementary education (B.El.Ed). Or
  •  12th class pass or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks and a 2-year diploma in Education (Special Education). Or
  • Graduation with 2 years diploma in elementary education.  Or
  • Completed graduation with at least 50% and B.Ed. in accordance with NCTE.

For Paper – II (Class 6th to 8th teacher)

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks and 1 year B.Ed. (Bachelor in Education). Or
  • Graduation (BA/ B.Sc.)  with at least 50% marks 2 year diploma in elementary education. Or
  • Graduation  (BA/ B.Sc.) with at least 45% marks and 1 year B.Ed (Bachelor in Education) in accordance with NCTE. Or
  • A Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks and 1 year B.Ed. (special education). Or
  • 12th class or equivalent with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). Or
  • 12th class or equivalent with at least 50% marks and 4 years B.A./ B.Sc, Ed or B.A. Ed./ B.Sc.Ed.

PSTET 2021 Application Form

The candidates who are looking to apply will be able to access the application form to be available on the official website. All the necessary details regarding the application process are provided below.

  • To begin the application process, candidates have to visit the official website i.e. www.pstet.net.
  • On the official website, aspirants need to register as a new user.
  • Information like name, email address, mobile number and security code is required to be entered.
  • Then, applicants can log in as a “Registered User” and fill the main application form.
  • In the main application form, candidates have to enter their complete academic, contact as well as personal details.
  • It is compulsory to upload the scanned images of photograph and signature of the candidate in the application form.
  • The size of the uploaded photograph and signature should be less than 50 KB and 20 KB respectively.
  • Next, the candidates are required to pay the necessary application fee.
  • Finally, the applicants should save and take a printout of the confirmation page.

The exam pattern of PSTET 2021 is explained below.

  • Mode of exam: Offline (Pen and paper-based exam)
  • Type of questions: Objective type multiple choice questions
  • Number of questions: 150
  • Duration of exam: 2 hours and 30 minutes
  • Number of Section: 5 in paper 1 and 4 in paper 2
  • Maximum Marks: 150
  • Marking Pattern: Each question will carry 1 mark
  • Negative Marking: Not applicable

PSTET 2021 Admit Card

  • Those candidates who will submit the application form and fees before the last date will be able to download the admit card from the official website.
  • To download an admit card, it is important for the candidates to provide their roll number or registration details.
  • Information about the exam schedule and venue will be communicated to the candidates via Admit card.
  • It is compulsory for all candidates to carry a hardcopy of the admit card along with a photo ID proof to the exam centre.
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall without having an admit card.

  • Language I and Language – II: Reading unseen passages, Pedagogy of Language Development, Learning and acquisition, Principles of language Teaching, Role of listening and speaking, Role of grammar in learning a language, Challenges of teaching language, Language Skills
  • Mathematics: Multiplication, Division, Measurement, Weight, Time, Volume, Data Handling, Patterns, Money, Geometry, Shapes, Solids, Numbers, Addition and Subtraction

PSTET 2021 Result

  • After conducting the examination offline, the PSTET 2021 result will be made available in online mode.
  • Candidates will be able to check their result by providing roll number and other details.
  • Name, category, and secured marks of the candidate will be present of the result.
  • Those candidates will be declared successful who will score more than qualifying marks.
  • The qualifying marks for different category candidates are as follows.
    • General category: 60% marks (90 out of 150)
