NDA 2018 (2) official notification and application form will be released on 6th June 2018. UPSC conducts National Defence Academy exam commonly known as NDA 2018 to short-list candidates for Indian Defence Forces such as Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force as officers. The entrance test is conducted twice in a year. NDA 2018 is scheduled to be conducted on 9th September 2018.  Candidates, who want to make their career in the field of Indian Armed forces, must fill and submit their NDA 2018 Online application before 2nd July 2018. All the important details regarding NDA exam 2018 have been furnished in this article below.

Eligibility Criteria for NDA Exam 2018

Nationality Criteria

Following categories of candidates are permitted to apply:

  • An Indian citizen, or
  • Who is a subject of Bhutan, or
  • Who is a subject of Nepal, or
  • Who is a Tibetan refugee and came in India before the 1st January 1962 with the intent of permanently settling over here, or
  • Who is a person of Indian origin and migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intent of permanently settling in India.

The Government of India has issued respective certificate for candidates of categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v). Candidates  who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal, they don’t need to submit such certificates.

NDA 2018 age limit, Sex and Marital Status

Sex- Only Males are allowed.

Marital Status- Should be Unmarried.

Age Limit- The applicants born not before 2nd January 2000 and not after 1st January 2003

Educational Qualification

Required educational qualification for Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: Aspirants must have cleared 12th examination or equivalent examination with Mathematics and Physics subjects from a recognized State Education Board/ University.

Educational requirement for Army Wing of NDA: Aspirant should have cleared 12th examination or equivalent qualification organized by a recognized State Education Board / University.

Candidates who are appearing in the 12th or equivalent qualifying examination may also apply.

Physical standards: Applicant must be physically fit as per the prescribed physical criteria of the respective authority.

NDA Application Form 2018

Important Notes:

Note 1: Candidates are suggested to submit only one application. However, if they have submitted multiple applications, then they must ensure that application with the higher RID is duly filled. The application with higher RID will be accepted and payment needs to made in the regard.

Note 2: Candidates who are already in Government services including candidates serving in the Sailors of the Indian Navy, Armed Forces, Cadets of Rashtriya Indian Military College, Students of Rashtriya Military Schools and Sainik Schools which is run by Sainik Schools Society, Government owned industrial undertakings or other similar organizations or in private employment, they should apply online direct to the Commission.

How to Apply Online?

  • The application form for NDA Entrance Exam 2018 will be available online from 6th June 2018 (for NDA 2).
  • Interested and eligible candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of authority.
  • Candidates should fill all mandatory fields carefully and correctly.
  • Candidates should submit a single application form.
  • No correction or changes will be allowed after the submission of NDA Online application form.
  • Candidates have to upload the scanned images of their photograph, signature and other required documents in the prescribed format.
  • Candidates have to pay a certain amount as necessary application fee for successful submission of application form.

Application fee:

  • Candidates from General and open category have to pay Rs 100/
  • No application fee for SC/ST candidates and wards of NCOs/ JCOs/Ors
  • The payment of NDA application fee can be done through cash in any branch of SBI Bank or through net banking, master card/ visa card/debit card.

UPSC NDA 2018 Exam Pattern

Quick Highlights of Exam Pattern

  • The NDA Entrance exam will consist of two paper i.e. paper A and paper B.
  • Paper A includes questions from the subject of Mathematics whereas Paper B intelligence and general ability test.
  • The entrance exam will be held in both English as well as the Hindi Language.
  • The total marks for Mathematics paper will be 300.
  • Each question will contain four alternative answers out of which candidates have to choose the correct one only.
  • There will be a negative marking for incorrect answers given by candidates.
  • The test will be conducted in offline mode.

Note 1: All the questions will be objective type only. The question papers will be bilingual which means the papers will be there in English as well as the Hindi language.

Note 2: Candidates have to write the exam paper by their own hand. Under no circumstances, they will be allowed to take help of a scribe to write answers for them.

Note 3: Only the Commission are authorized to set up qualifying criteria either in one subject or all the subjects of the examination.

Note 4: It is highly restricted to use the Mathematical or logarithmic table for answering questions in the exam.

NDA 2018 syllabus

The syllabus of NDA Exam has been divided into two parts namely Mathematics and General Ability Test. The General Ability Test part will comprise questions from various topics such as General Knowledge (GK), English, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, General Science and Current Events.

NDA 2018 Admit card

Admit card will be released by the UPSC before two or three weeks from the NDA examination date. Candidates who completed their application process successfully within the scheduled time can download the NDA 2018 admit card via the UPSC’s website. No other mode except online will be entertained to obtain the admit card. Candidates should carry their admit card at the examination center on the day of NDA exam.

NDA Result 2018

The Result will be announced after one month of examination. Candidates can view their NDA 2018 result through the official portal of UPSC. Applicants should enter their roll number, date of birth etc in the given fields in order to check their result. Candidates are advised to download the NDA Result and take a printout of the same and keep it safe with you till the completion of selection process.  Selected candidates in NDA written Test will be invited for further admission process.

NDA 2018 Selection Process

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of written exam will be invited for SSB interview which will be conducted for four to five days. Candidates who successfully qualified SSB round will further be called for medical test and document verification process.

  2. Sir, my son is 10 Feb 2001 born and studying in 11th standard with PCM subject. Please advise when he can apply for NDA exam.

    • Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination are eligible to apply for this examination.
