Maharashtra SET 2023: Application Form, Eligibility Criteria, Exam Date

Candidates who aspire to become Assistant Professor in the institutes of Maharashtra need to clear Maharashtra SET 2023 exam. Candidates who clear this exam will be awarded a certificate of eligibility. On behalf of the States of Maharashtra & Goa, the Savitribai Phule Pune University conducts the eligibility test. The application form for the exam will be tentatively released in the month of January 2023 through online mode. Exam will be conducted as a pen and paper based test in the month of June 2023. Maharashtra SET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria prescribed below should only apply for the MH SET 2023 exam:

  • The candidates must have master’s degree recognized by UGC in a subject of SET with not less than 55% marks in aggregate (50% marks for the reserved category candidates).
  • The candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or who have appeared for the final year exam and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for Assistant Professor after they have passed their master’s degree.
  • Candidates can appear for SET in the subject of their Post Graduation only. If a post-graduate subject of any candidate is not included in the list of SET subjects, such candidates can appear for SET in a related or equivalent subject.
  • Candidates of states other than Maharashtra & Goa can apply too but they will be treated as open category, even if they belong to reserved category.
  • To apply for the SET, there is no upper age limit prescribed by the authorities.

MH SET 2023 Application Form

The application form for Maharashtra SET 2023 will be released on the official website of the university www.setexam.unipune.ac.in. Complete process of the filling and submission of the application form will be done through online mode.

  • To fill the application form, the candidates will have to provide their basic personal and educational information.
  • The candidates will also have to upload their photograph and signature in scanned format into the form.
  • Care should be taken to provide only true and correct details into the application form as any incorrect information can make it liable for rejection.
  • Once all the details are filled correctly into the application form, the candidates can submit it with the required application fee.
  • The candidates are suggested to keep a printout of the application form with them in case of future reference.

Application fee:

  • The application fee will be Rs. 800/- for general category candidates and Rs. 400/- for reserved category candidates.
  • Examination fees should be paid online by debit card/ credit card or through internet banking only.

Maharashtra SET 2023 Admit Card

  • The SET admit card will be released online on the official website of the university and can be downloaded using the login id and password.
  • In order to appear for the entrance exam, the candidates must carry their admit card to the exam center along with a photo id proof.
  • No candidate will be allowed to appear for the exam in case of non-availability of the mentioned documents.
  • The venue, time and shift of the examination will be communicated to the candidates through the admit card.
  • Admit card should be preserved by the candidates till they successfully receive their certificate of eligibility.

Answer Key

  • The answer keys of all the papers will be displayed on the website www.setexam.unipune.ac.in after the examination is concluded.
  • The candidates who are not satisfied with the answer keys may challenge the same on payment of Rs. 1000/- per question.
  • Online link for challenging the answer key will be made available on the official website.
  • In case the challenge of any candidate regarding answer keys is accepted, the fee will be refunded to such candidates.

Result & Certificate

  • The authorities will announce the result of the SET exam on the official website of the Pune University.
  • Candidates will be able to check their result using their name, date of birth, application number, etc.
  • Those who obtain more than the prescribed cut-off will be considered as qualified and will be awarded the eligibility certificate.
  • However, original documents of the candidates will be verified first before grating them the certificate.
  • Candidates with the certificate will be eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor in the colleges of Maharashtra state as per their vacancies.
