Kashmir Administrative Services Exam 2022: Combined Competitive Examination or, in common parlance, the Kashmir Administrative Services Exam (KAS) is a state level civil services examination conducted by Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) for direct recruitment to various state public services such as Junior Scale of J&K Administrative Service, J&K Police (Gazetted) Service, J&K Accounts (Gazetted) Service. Jammu & Kashmir Civil Services Application Form 2022

  • The application form for the Kashmir Administrative Services Exam will be published on the official website of the commission.
  • Candidates need to fill all the details in the application form.
  • It will also be required to upload the scanned photo and signature on the appi9cation form.
  • Henceforth, candidates will pay the application fee thru the credit card, debit card or net banking.
  • In the last, the application form will be submitted online.
  • Candidates need to take the printout of the application form for future reference.

Jammu & Kashmir Civil Services Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible to appear in the Jammu & Kashmir Civil Services examination, a candidate must fulfill the following criteria:

  • The applicant must be the permanent resident of J&K State.
  • He must have attained the age of 21 years but has not crossed the age of 35 years on 1st January of the year in which notification inviting applications is issued by the commission.
  • It is also provided that the upper age limit shall be 37 years in the case of candidates belonging to ST, SC, and OSC (other social castes).
  • The upper age limit for the Physically Challenged candidates shall be 37 years irrespective of the category to which they belong.

Kashmir Administrative Services Exam Pattern

The Examination consists of three successive stages: 
a. Combined Services Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
b. Combined Services Mains Examination (Written)
c. Interview

The examination will consist of two papers. 
Paper I ‐ General Studies (150 marks)
Paper II – One subject to be selected from the list of specified optional subjects (300 marks).

  • Both the question papers will be of objective nature (multiple choice questions).
  • The language of the question papers will be English.
  • The questions asked in the examination will be of the degree level.
  • Each question paper will be of two hours duration.

The written examination (Mains) shall consist of the following papers:
Paper I – General English (300 marks)
Paper II – Essay (150 marks)
Paper III & IV – General Studies (300 marks each)
Papers V, VI, VII & VIII – Any Two Optional Subjects selected from the list of the specified subjects.

Details of the Personality Test

  • It is the final stage of KAS examination and it carries a total of 250 marks. Although there are no minimum qualifying marks for interview, but it is compulsory to appear for it when summoned.
  • Candidates who obtain such minimum qualifying marks in the Mains Examination as may be fixed by the Commission in any or all the papers at their discretion shall be summoned for an interview.
  • Usually, the number of candidates to be summoned for interview will not be more than thrice the number of vacancies to be filled.

The interview test is intended to judge the mental calibre of a candidate. In broad terms, this is really an assessment of not only his intellectual qualities but also social traits and his interests in current affairs.

Jammu & Kashmir Civil Services Selection Process

  • Candidates’ selection will be done thru the pre, mains and interview assessment test.
  • After the commencement of the preliminary examination, the authority will conduct the Main examination.
  • Candidates will be invited to prove their suitability for the job thru personality test after the main exam is conducted.
  • Candidates’ marks in the pre and main examination will be taken into account for the final selection.

  • The admit card will be available on the official website of the Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC).
  • Candidates can download the admit card from there and can take a printout of the same.
  • It will have all the crucial information about the exam timing, duration of the question paper and the venue of the examination.

    • After the reorganization of Act 2019 now Jammu and Kashmir Administration will conduct State PSC once a year you can continue your preparations…
