Karnataka Civil Services Eligibility Criteria
There are some points of the eligibility criteria which each candidate need to fulfill to be eligible to apply for the ‘Karnataka Civil Services Examination’.
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- He must have completed the graduation or any other equivalent three years’ degree from a recognized institute.
- The age of the applicants should be between 21 years and should not exceed 35 years.
- The candidates of the reserved categories will get relaxation in the upper age.
- There will be an upper age relaxation of 5 years for the candidates of SC and ST category.
- The upper age relaxation for the candidates will be 3 years.
- The upper age limit for the physically handicapped candidates and the widow will be 10 years.

Karnataka Civil Services Application Form 2022
Candidates, who are eligible, can fill and submit the Karnataka Civil Services Application Form online. Candidates can fill the application form as according to the guidelines given below;
- The application form will be available online.
- Candidates will all the required information in the application form.
- There will be an application fee for the application form which candidates will pay thru the online modes.
- The online modes of the payment of the application fee will be such as the credit card, debit card or net banking.
- It will be necessary for the applicants to save the application form in the pdf format after submission. It may be required for the reference later.

Karnataka Civil Services Exam Pattern
There will be two parts of the Karnataka Civil Services Exam such as the Pre exam and the Main exam. The main exam will consist of the written test and the Interview. The details of the Karnataka Civil services exam have been given below separately.
Karnataka Civil Services Pre-Exam
The Preliminary exam will be the first part of the examination process. The details of the pre-exam are as given in the following table:

More details about the Karnataka Civil Services Pre-Exam are given in the following points:
- The question paper would be set both in Kannada and English.
- The standard of Preliminary Examination is that of degree level.
- Each paper will be of two hours duration.
- The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Examination would be 20 times the vacancies notified for recruitment in the order of merit on the basis of the performance in the Preliminary Examination.
- There will also be provision for reservation for SC, ST, and OBC.
Main Examination and Interview
The Main exam will be the second part of the examination process. It will consist of the written test and the interview. The details of the main examination have been given in the following table:

Some more details about the Main exam will be as given below:
- The Examination is of conventional (essay) type.
- The question papers are set both in Kannada and in English.
- The marks obtained in compulsory papers (Kannada and English) are of qualifying nature. For qualifying in these papers, a minimum of 30% in each paper and 35% aggregate is required.
- The marks obtained in these two papers are not considered for determining the merit for selection. Candidates who do not secure the prescribed marks in these papers namely, Kannada and English, will not be eligible for personality test and selection.
- The standard of Kannada and English paper are that of First Language Kannada and First Language English respectively at SSLC Level.
- The standard of the main examination except (Kannada and English) are that of degree level.

Candidates can choose one of the following Languages also as one of the optional subjects except the subjects given in the above table. The subjects are as given below.

The Candidates will not be allowed to choose the following combination of subjects in the main examinations:
- Political Science and International Relations and Public Administration
- Commerce and Accountancy and Management
- Anthropology and Sociology
- Mathematics and Statistics
- Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences
- Not more than one of the Engineering Subjects (Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering)
- Economics and Rural Development and Co-operation
- Agriculture and Rural Development & Co-operation
Viva-Voce / Interview Test
- Personality test will be of a maximum of 200 marks.
- The objective of the Personality test is to assess the personal suitability of a candidate for the job.
- The qualities judged at the time of personality test are mental alertness, critical powers of assimilation, clear and logical exposition, and balance of judgment, variety, and depth of interest, the ability for social cohesion, leadership and intellectual depth of the candidate.
Karnataka Civil Services Admit Card 2022
- Candidates will be able to download the admit card for the pre-examination after submitting the application form online.
- There will be separate admit cards for the separate level of examination viz. Pre and Mains.
- It will be obligatory for the applicants to bring the admit card with them at the examination center otherwise their entry will be denied.
Karnataka Civil Services Exam Result 2022
- The result of the Karnataka Civil Services Exam will be declared thru the official website of KPSC.
- Candidates will get the result of the examination separately viz. Prelims, Mains, and interview.
- After the interview is conducted, APSC will announce the final result and the selected Candidates will be deployed in the various administrative departments of Karnataka.
