JTET 2021: Application Form, Exam Date, Eligibility Criteria

The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) conducts the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET) to select the candidates for the award of Eligibility Certificate. Candidates who earn this certificate are eligible for the post of primary and upper primary teachers in the government schools of Jharkhand. For primary teachers (class I to V) Paper I is conducted and for upper primary teachers (class VI to VIII) Paper II is conducted. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to fill their JTET 2021 application forms through online mode.

Jharkhand TET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates should meet the criteria prescribed below to be eligible for JTET 2021:

For Paper I (class 1 to 5):

Candidates with any of the following qualifications are eligible:

  • Senior secondary or equivalent exam with not less than 50% aggregate marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
  • Senior secondary or equivalent exam with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE
  • Senior secondary or equivalent exam scoring not less than 50% aggregate marks and 2-year Diploma in Education
  • Senior secondary or equivalent exam with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education
  • BA/ B.Sc degree with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks and B.Ed degree

For Paper II (class 6 to 8):

Candidates with any of the following qualifications are eligible:

  • Graduation scoring a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 1-year Bachelor in Education
  • Graduation with at least 45% aggregate marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education in accordance with the NCTE Regulations
  • Graduation with not less than 45% aggregate marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
  • Graduation with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks and a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education) degree
  • Senior secondary or equivalent exam with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 4-year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed
  • Senior secondary or equivalent exam with at least 50% aggregate marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education

JTET Application Form 2021

Candidates will have to apply online for Jharkhand TET 2021 exam. The application form will be made available on the official website of Jharkhand Academic Council jac.jharkhand.gov.in hopefully from the month of September 2020 onwards.

  • The candidates will have to provide their personal details, educational details, contact details, etc to fill the application form.
  • Photograph and signature of the candidates in scanned format should also be uploaded in the form.
  • Choice for paper(s) and for exam center should be clearly mentioned by the candidates in the application form.
  • Once all the details are entered into the form, the candidates should check the information provided for any mistake and if found, should correct it immediately.
  • Duly filled application form can then be submitted online along with the specified application fee.
  • After successful submission, the candidates should take out a print of the application form and keep it safe in case of future reference.

Application fee:

  • For Paper I or Paper II: Rs. 500/- for general/ OBC candidates and Rs. 250/- for SC/ ST candidates
  • For both Paper I and Paper II: Rs. 1000/- for general/ OBC candidates and Rs. 500/- for SC/ ST candidates

Mode of Payment:

The candidates will be able to make payment of the application fee through online mode using their debit card/ credit card or net banking.

JTET 2021 Exam Pattern

The basic overview of JTET exam pattern 2021 is provided below:

  • Mode of exam: Offline
  • Exam duration: 2:30 hours
  • Number of questions: 150
  • Total marks: 150
  • Type of question: Multiple choice objective type questions
  • Question paper language: Hindi and English (except for language section)
  • Marking scheme: Each question in the paper will carry 1 mark.
  • Negative marking: Negative marking will not be applicable.

Jharkhand TET Admit Card 2021

  • Successfully registered candidates can download their admit card for JTET 2021 from the official website of JAC.
  • A hard copy of the admit card should be taken and carried to the exam center along with a valid identity proof.
  • Venue and schedule for appearing in the exam will be mentioned in the admit card along with some basic details of the candidates.
  • Admit card should be kept safe from distortion or damage or else it will not be considered as valid.
  • Therefore, it is suggested that the candidates take multiple printouts of the admit card.

JTET 2021 Result

  • The result of the Jharkhand TET 2021 exam is expected to be declared online in the month of March 2021 (tentatively).
  • Those who successfully appear for the exam can check the result from the official JAC website.
  • Candidates who score above the prescribed cut-off marks will be considered as qualified.

JTET Certificate 2021

  • Qualified candidates will be awarded a Certificate of Eligibility by the Jharkhand Academic Council.
  • However, documents and eligibility of the candidates will be verified before awarding them the certificate.
  • Those with the eligibility certificate will be eligible to apply for the post of teachers into the schools of Jharkhand.

Will the application form be available through offline mode?

No. The JTET application form will only be released online on the official website of JAC.

Do I need to keep my admit card after the exam is over?

Yes. It is advised to keep the admit card safe till you successfully receive the certificate of eligibility.

Is there any validity period of the eligibility certificate?

The certificate is expected to be valid for a period of 5 years. The validity period will be mentioned on the certificate.

Do the authorities release answer key of the JTET exam?

Yes. The authorities will publish the answer of JTET exam for both Paper I and Paper II on the JAC website.

Can I ask for refund on my application fee?

The application fee once submitted will neither be refunded nor transferred under any circumstances.
