Indian Air Force Airmen Recruitment 2022 (Group ‘X’ and ‘Y’ Trades)

Indian Air Force has released the online application form for Unmarried Male Indian Citizens (Candidates having citizenship of Nepal also eligible) to join as Airmen in Group ‘X’ (excluding Education Instructor Trade) and Group ‘Y’ (excluding Automobile Technician, GTI, IAF (P), IAF(S) and Musician} Trades. The selection test is going to be held in March 2022  and its application form might be accessible from December 2021 till January 2022 .

Important Dates

Here are the important dates associated to Indian Air Force Airmen recruitment  please have a look:

Eligibility Criteria

Following criteria has to be fulfilled by candidates for appearing in Indian Air Force Airmen selection test. The details are given below:

Date of Birth

Candidates whose date of birth falls in between 13 January 2001 to 02 January 2005 (both days inclusive) are permitted to apply. If the candidates clears all the stages of the Selection Procedure, then the upper age limit as on date of enrollment is 21 years.

Educational Criteria

For Group „X‟ (Except Education Instructor Trade)

  • Candidates should have cleared 10+2/Intermediate/equivalent exam along with English, Physics and Mathematics with 50 marks in English and 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Candidates having three years Diploma degree in Engineering with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in Diploma or Matriculation/Intermediate (if English was not your subject during completing Diploma education) are eligible.

For Group „Y‟ {Except Automobile Technician, GTI, IAF (P), IAF(S) and Musician} Trades

Candidates should have cleared 10+2/Intermediate/Equivalent exam with securing at least 50% marks in English and 50% marks in aggregate.

Group „Y‟ Medical Assistant Trade Only

Candidates should have cleared 10+2/Intermediate/ equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

Important Notes

  • Candidate eligible for Group X examination are also eligible for Group Y and would be given an option of appearing in both group X and Group Y exam in one sitting while filling up the online registration form.
  • Education Boards listed in Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) website as members, as on date of registration will only be permitted.
  • Diploma holders can appear for Group X trades only.
  • Exact aggregate Percentage of marks before decimal as written in the marks sheet of 10+2/Intermediate/Equivalent Examination/Three years Diploma Course OR calculated as per the rules of concerned Education Board/Polytechnic Institute will only be considered (For example 49.99% should be taken as 49% and not to be rounded off to 50%).

How to Apply for Indian Air Force Airmen Recruitment?

For the online registration, candidates have to visit the official website i.e. www.airmenselection.cdac.in in between December 2021 till January 2022. Any mistakes made in the form will lead to rejection of the particular form. Therefore, candidates need to be careful enough at the time applying for the selection test.

Exam Pattern

The selection process will be held in different phases and their related details are given below:

Phase I (Online Test {For both Group ‘ X’ Trades (except Education Instructor Trade)} & Group Y’ {except Automobile Technician, GTI, IAF(P), IAF(S) and Musician Trades})

  • For Group ‘X’ Trades: The online exam will be conducted over a period of 60 minutes and will consist of questions from Physics, Mathematics and English according to the 10+2 CBSE syllabus.
  • Group ‘Y’ {Except Automobile Technician, GTI, IAF (P), IAF(S) and Musician} Trades: The test will be conducted over a period of 45 minutes and shall consist of questions from English, Reasoning and General Awareness.
  • Both Group ‘X&Y’ Trades: The exam will be conducted over a period of 85 minutes and will consist of questions from Physics, Mathematics and English according to 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness.

Candidates will have to get the qualifying marks separately in each paper.

Phase II

Phase I qualified candidates have to appear in Phase II on the given date and time along with following documents:

Phase III

Phase III will be a medical examination. Candidates will have to clear the medical examination as per the standard of concerned authority.
