IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria 2022: Nationality, Age, Minimum Education

The Common Recruitment Examination is conducted by IBPS for the selection of candidates as ‘Specialist Officers’ in order to appoint them in various cadres like ‘IT’, ‘Agriculture’, ‘Law’, ‘Marketing’, ‘HR’, ‘Rajbhasha Adhikari’ in different public sector banks and financial institutions.

Before candidates make their choice to apply for Common Written Examination for the post of Specialist Officer, they must ensure whether they complete all the conditions of eligibility criteria for IBPS SO Examination or not.

IBPS determined a set of rules about the eligibility of the candidates which candidates necessarily need to possess.

Here the set of rule determined by IBPS has been provided. Aspirants are attentively advised to study and check all the details about eligibility as given hereunder-

Nationality / Citizenship of the Candidates

 A candidate willing to apply for the post of Probationary Officers’ Examination-
(i) must be a citizen of India
(ii) must be a subject of Nepal or
(iii) must be a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 to be settled permanently in India                                 (v) a person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India

Note for the candidates belonging to second, third, fourth and fifth category-

A candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall have to present the certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India before IBPS.

Age Limitation
Candidates who make his choice to apply for Specialist Officer’s Examination they must belong to 20-30 years age category.

Note- Both dates mentioned above will be included while calculating the age of the candidate.

Relaxation in the Age

• Candidates should be 20 to 30 years old to apply in the IBPS SO Examination.
• The candidates of the reserved category will be provided the relaxation in age as per the rules set by Parliament.
• Candidates who belong to the category of ‘Scheduled Caste’ and ‘Scheduled Tribe’ will be provided relaxation of five years.
• The candidates of Other Backward Class (OBC) will have the relaxation in their age of maximum up to 3 years.
• Persons having disabilities will get maximum age relaxation of all which will be 10 years.
• Ex-men and commissioned officers will be offered maximum 5 years of age relaxation.

Minimum Educational Qualification

Candidates who apply for the posts other than the post of IT Officer (Scale-I), all other candidates need to have the certificate/diploma or degree in computer Operations / Computer / Language / Information Technology as one of the subjects in High School, College or Institute.
