IBPS RRB 2023 exam will be conducted by the Institute of banking personnel selection (IBPS) for recruitment of officers (scale-I, II, III) and office assistant (multipurpose) in participating Regional rural banks (RRBs). Eligibility Criteria for IBPS RRB 2023
Applicants must satisfy the necessary conditions of eligibility for the exam. Ineligible candidates will not be allowed to appear in the exam. The eligibility criteria for IBPS RRB exam is given below-
Nationality
A candidate must be either be-
- a citizen of India or
- a subject of Nepal or
- a subject of Bhutan or
- a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
- a person of Indian origin permanently settled in India and has migrated from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam.
Age Criteria: The age criteria differs from post to post as given in the table-

Educational Qualification: The educational qualification for RRB exam varies as per the post (scales)-

IBPS RRB 2023 Application Form
Aspirants can apply for the IBPS RRB exam only through the online mode. They can fill the application form via the official website of the IBPS. Candidates wishing to apply for office assistant post can also apply for officer post for different scales, provided that they only apply to any one of the scales. They should keep the scanned images (signature and photograph) handy. They must register themselves for the exam before proceeding for the application form.
The particulars in the online application form should be filled with extreme care as after submitting the application, no change request will be entered by the authority. Applicants also must pay the requisites amount of fee in form of the application fee for the exam. The application received without the payment will end up getting rejected by the authority.
Application Fee
Candidates need to pay Rs. 600/- (Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates) as the application fee for the IBPS RRB exam. Ex-serviceman wishing to apply for office assistant post should pay Rs. 100/- as the application fee.
Mode of Payment: Candidates can pay the fee only via online mode i.e. with the help of a credit card, debit card, net banking, IMPS, mobile wallet, cash cards etc.
IBPS RRB 2023 Exam Pattern
The exam pattern for IBPS RRB is given below-
- Exam mode: Online (Computer-based test)
- Duration: 45 minutes in the preliminary exam and 2 hours in the main exam
- Language: English/Hindi

- Negative Marking: 25 marks will be deducted for marking the wrong answer
Syllabus
The syllabus for the exam varies from post to post. For the preliminary exam, candidates only need to study reasoning and numerical aptitude. Here are some of the common subjects that the candidates must study to score well in the exam-
Reasoning: Blood relations, puzzles, syllogism, data sufficiency, coding-decoding, sitting arrangement, alphabetical series, ranking, direction sense, machine input-output, inequalities, etc.
Quantitative aptitude: Inequalities, number series, time and work, average, simplification, boats and streams, pipes and cisterns, permutation and combination, data interpretation, problems of age, problems on train, mixture and allegation, approximation
English language: Sentence errors, cloze test, reading comprehension, fillers, vocabulary, jumbled paragraph, sentence rearrangement, sentence correction
General awareness: Name of banks and their chiefs, bank taglines, banking related schemes, RBI, government schemes, current affairs, sports, awards, books and authors,
Computer Knowledge: Computer hardware, languages, memory, history and generation of computers, computer organization, MS office, DBMS, operating system, internet, number system and conversions etc.
Preparation Tips for IBPS RRB 2023
Here are some useful tips that will the candidates score good marks in the exam-
- A timetable can help you in completing your syllabus on time. Make a timetable and start your preparation strictly according to it.
- Know the exam syllabus first and then collect the study material accordingly. The study material should only be collected from authentic sources.
- Make notes of important topics while studying. These notes will help you at the time of revision.
- Start solving mock tests and practice paper once you complete your syllabus. However, it is important to clear your basic concepts first.
- Don’t take stress while studying. To freshen up your mind, do yoga and practice meditation.

IBPS RRB 2023 Admit Card
Applicants can download the admit card from the official website. Separate call letters will be released for preliminary examination, main examination and interview. Candidates need to take the printout of the hall ticket and keep it safe till the selection is done. The admit card must be carried to the exam center along with a valid photo ID proof. Without the admit card, no candidate will be allowed to take the exam. The admit card mustn’t be damaged or mutilated or else it will be considered invalid.
Result and Selection
The result of IBPS RRB 2023 will be announced on the official website of the IBPS. Candidates should note that separate results will be declared for preliminary exam and main exam. The final selection will be based on the marks secured by the applicants in pre-exam, main exam and interview. After the result declaration, the authority will send the provisional allotment letter to the selected candidates stating the reporting schedule to the allotted Regional rural bank.
