IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria 2022: Age Limit, Qualification, Nationality

Before candidates make their choice to apply for IBPS RRB exam 2022 for the posts of Officer Scale and Office Assistant in various rural banks, they must make certain whether they fulfill all the criteria for the examination or not. Candidates have been quoted here with all the essential details of IBPS RRB eligibility criteria- please confirm your eligibility before you apply for the exam.

Nationality of the Candidates

 Candidates who are willing to apply for the post of Probationary Officers’ Examination-
(I) must be a citizen of India
(ii) must be subject of Nepal or
(iii) must be subject of Bhutan or
(iv) Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 to be settled permanently in India                                   (v) a person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India

Age Limitation for appearing in the IBPS RRB Examination

IBPS selects candidates for four different categories through RRB examination and as according to the IBPS RRB age criteria for all the categories is different as provided below-

  • Candidates should be of or above 21 years and of or below 40 years for the post of Officer Scale-III which means not earlier than 03/06/1982 and not later than 31/05/2001(both dates inclusive).
  • Candidates should be of or above 21 years and of or below 32 years for the post of Officer Scale-II which means not earlier than 03.06.1990 and not later than31.05.2001(both dates inclusive).
  • Candidates should be of or above 18 years and of or below 30 years for the post of Officer Scale-I that means not earlier than 03.06.1992 and not later than31.05.2003(both dates inclusive)
  • Candidates should be of or above 18 years and of or below 28 years for the post of Office Assistant (multipurpose) that means not earlier than 02.06.1994 and not later than 01.06.2004(both dates inclusive)

Details about the Age Relaxation

Aspirants who belong to the reserved category will be offered the justifiable relaxation in their age according to the provisions made by Constitution. The details about age relaxation have been given in detail below-

  • Candidates who belong to the reserved category of ‘Scheduled Caste’ and ‘Scheduled Tribe’ will be offered relaxation in their age which will be of maximum up to five
  • The candidates of Other Backward Class (OBC) will be provided for relaxation in their age of maximum up to three years.
  • Persons having disabilities or those who are physically handicapped will get the maximum age relaxation of ten years.
  • Widows, divorced women, and women who have been separated legally from their husbands and who have not married again after that will be provided a relaxation of nine years in their upper age.
  • Candidates who got affected by 1984 riots will get the age relaxation of five years.
  • Retrenched workers of Union Carbide Factory, Madhya Pradesh will get a maximum of five years of age relaxation.

Minimum Educational Qualification

2 Officer Scale-II

(General Banking Officer)

Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

Preference will be given to those candidates having degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural marketing and Cooperation, Information, Technology, management, Law and Accountancy.

2 years as an officer in a Bank or in any Financial Institution
3 Officer Scale-II

(Specialist Officer)

Information Technology Officer

Degree from a recognized university in electronics / communication/ Computer Science / Information technology/ or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate-

Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP etc.

One Year
Chartered Accountant

Certified associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountant of India

One Year
Law Officer

Degree in Law from a recognized University with 50% marks in aggregate.

 

Two years as an advocate or should have worked as law officer in Banks or Financial Institutions
Treasury Manager

Certified associate form the institute of Chartered Accountants of India or MBA in finance from a recognized university

Marketing officer

MBA in marketing form a recognized Institute

 

One Years
Agriculture Officer

degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture with 50% aggregate mark

Two years
4 Officer Scale-III Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

Preference will be given to the candidates having degree/ diploma in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Pisciculture, Agriculture, marketing and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy

Minimum five years of experience as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institutions
5 Office Assistant (Multipurpose) Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent

• Essential proficiency in local language of the applicable RRBs

• Knowledge of computer skills
