UGC NET Syllabus 2023: Download PDF

UGC NET Syllabus 2023: The NTA UGC NET is conducted for around 100 different subjects and the syllabus will be different for each subject. The candidates preparing for this exam must familiarize themselves with the UGC NET Syllabus 2023 first. By knowing the syllabus, they will be aware of the topics from which the questions will be asked in the paper.

There will be two papers conducted in the UGC NET-Paper I and Paper II.

The syllabus of the Paper I will be common for every candidate and will cover the topics such as teaching aptitude, research aptitude, reading comprehension, reasoning, data interpretation, information and communication technology, etc.

The syllabus of paper II will be subject-specific and will cover the entire syllabus of earlier Paper II & Paper III (including all electives, without options).

The list of the subjects can be found along with their specific syllabi on the official website ugc.ac.in/net/syllabus.aspx also. In addition to this, the syllabi of the exam can be availed from the libraries of all Indian Universities.

Note:

  • The candidates should only appear for those subjects for which they have earned their postgraduate degree or a related subject, if the actual subject is not found.
  • The candidates with Master’s Degree in Geography (with specialization in Population Studies) or Mathematics/ Statistics are also eligible to appear in the subject ‘Population Studies’.
  • The candidates with Master’s Degree in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences are eligible to appear in the subject ‘Women Studies’.

UGC NET Exam Pattern 2023

The UGC NET will be a pen-and paper based exam conducted for the duration of 3 hours. A basic overview of the exam pattern is given as:
