Procedure & Criteria for Declaration of Result

6% of the total appeared candidates will be selected for Eligibility for Assistant Professor (total slots). The total slots allocated to different categories will be as per the reservation policy of Government of India.

In order to be considered for ‘Both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility for Assistant Professor’ and for ‘Eligibility for Assistant Professor Only’, the candidate must have appeared in both the papers.

The candidates should have secured at least 40% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together for General category candidates and at least 35% aggregate marks for candidates belonging to the reserved categories (SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL/ PWD/ Transgender).

The number of candidates to be declared qualified in any subject for a particular category is derived as per the following methodology illustrated below:

Number of candidates to be declared qualified for Eligibility for Assistant Professor in the subject ‘Economics’ (say) for the Scheduled Caste (SC) category =

Number of SC category candidates who secured 35% aggregate marks for ‘Economics’ (×) Total slots derived for SC category (÷) Total number of SC category candidates overall subjects who secured 35% aggregate marks

The aggregate percentage of the two papers corresponding to the number of slots arrived at, will determine the qualifying cut-off for Eligibility for Assistant Professor ‘in ‘Economics’ for the SC category. Similarly, the subject-wise qualifying cut-offs for all categories will be determined.

The qualified candidates (selected as above) who had applied for ‘Eligibility for JRF & Eligibility for Assistant Professor Both’ will be considered for JRF.

The total number of slots available for awarding JRF will allocated among different categories as per the reservation policy of Government of India. The procedure for subject-wise cum category-wise allocation of JRF slots is illustrated below:

Number of candidates to be declared qualified for JRF & Eligibility for Assistant Professor Both in the subject ‘Economics’ (say) for Scheduled Caste (SC) category =

Number of SC category candidates who opted for JRF and have qualified for Eligibility for Assistant Professor in Economics (×) Total JRF slots available for SC category (÷) Total number of SC category candidates over all subjects who have opted for JRF and have qualified for Eligibility for Assistant Professor

The aggregate percentage of the two papers corresponding to the number of JRF slots arrived at, will determine the qualifying cut-off for JRF in ‘Economics’ for the SC category. Similar allocation procedure will be used for all subjects and categories.
