JNVST: Exam Dates, Application Form, Eligibility Criteria

JNVST: Candidates, aspiring to get admission into class VI at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), they will have to appear for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test. I would like to intimate all JNVST 2018 aspirants that they may obtain the application form from September onward. Please check out below all important dates associated with JNVST including its application form, eligibility criteria, exam pattern, syllabus etc.

Description of the Exam Date

  • January: in the State of Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh (except Dibang Valley & Tawang Districts), Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Goa, Haryana, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh (except Kinnaur, Chamba, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla Districts), Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Maharashtra, Orissa, Punjab, Tripura, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, & West Bengal (except Darjeeling), Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Delhi, Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep and Pudducherry.
  • April: in the States of Jammu and Kashmir (except Leh, Kargil & Doda), Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Uttrakhand and in the Districts of Dibang Valley and Tawang of Arunachal Pradesh, in the Districts of Kullu, Chamba, Mandi, Sirmour of Himachal Pradesh, in the District of Darjeeling of West Bengal.
  • June: in the Districts of Leh, Kargil & Doda of J&K State and in the District of Shimla, Kinnaur, and Lahaul & Spiti of Himachal Pradesh State.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Age of candidates should not fall before than 01-05-2005 and after 30-04-2009. This age criteria will be applicable to candidates belonging to all categories including SC/ST.
  • Candidates should be studying in class V for the academic session 2017-18 or ‘B’ certificate competency programme offered by NIOS in the same district where he/she is aspiring to find admission.
  • If you want to claim admission against rural quota then you must have studied and cleared classes III, IV and V from a Govt. / Govt. aided / recognized school.
  • Candidates, who are going to pass ‘B’ certificate competency programme of NIOS on or before 30th September, 2017, can also apply.
  • Candidates who have not been prompted and admitted into class V in prior of September are not permitted to apply.
  • Please keep in your mind that you won’t be allowed to appear in the selection test for the second time.

JNVST Application Form

Here is the actual procedure to apply for JNV Selection Test in online mode, please have a look:

  • The authority has simplified the application process for appearing in the exam. Detailed verification of certificates provided by students will be made through laid down process;
  • Eligible candidates may approach the Common Service Centre with their parents. They need to bring the duly filled in certificate obtained from the Head Master of School where they are studying in Class V. The format is available to download from the Samiti website i.e.www.nvshq.org.
  • If you are under NIOS board then you need to obtain the “B” certificate. Please ensure that you live in the same district where you are seeking admission.

Exam Pattern

  • The exam will be conducted in 21 languages including English, Hindi, Assamese, Malayalam, Mizo, Sindhi (Arabic), Telugu, Bengali, Garo, Kannada, Manipuri, Oriya, Sindhi (Devnagri), Urdu, Bodo, Gujarati, Khasi, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Nepali.
  • Candidates will be able to find the associated details of exam centre at their respective admit card.
  • The medium of the question paper will be the language through which candidate is completing his/her class v study.
  • The selection test will be of total 2 hours duration and there will be three sections in the exam.
  • Type of all questions will be objective type only.
  • Total number of questions will be 100 of 100 marks.

Candidates need to put their correct answers in the separate entrance test. They must use only Blue/Black Ball Point Pen while answering questions.

Admit Card

Candidates may obtain their respective admit card from the office of Common Service Centre according to the schedule provided below:

Result

Candidates can find their result from the offices of District Education Officer, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya of the particular region. This is also the utmost responsibility of Principal to intimate the selected candidates through post.
