JIPMER B.Sc. Nursing 2023

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry will soon invite the applications for JIPMER B.Sc. Nursing 2023. It is a four-year degree course for which the admission will be provided on the basis of an entrance exam. The candidates who will successfully complete this course will get an optional 1-year internship at JIPMER. It is expected that the application form submission will start in the month of April 2023.   • The entrance exam will be held in online mode and it will carry 100 questions.
  • While appearing for the exam, the candidates should get their admit card signed and sealed by the invigilator.
  • Out 75 seats in B.Sc. Nursing, 8 seats are reserved for Male candidates while 67 seats are reserved for female candidates.
  • The students who will appear for the qualifying exam in the year 2023 are also eligible.
  • Please that the candidates who have studied the Medical Laboratory Assistant in the vocational stream are not eligible.
  • Keep the hall ticket safe even after the exam as it will be required at the time of counselling.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

  • Only Indian candidates are eligible to apply

Age limit

  • The age of a candidate should be more than 17 years as on 31st December 2023 (born on or before 1st January 2004)
  • There is no upper age limit

Educational Qualification

  • The candidates must pass that class 12th or equivalent exam from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, English, Biology/ Botany & Zoology subjects. Please note that the candidate must pass in each subject individually.
  • Additionally, the applicant needs to have at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Botany & Zoology subjects.
  • For SC/ ST candidates, the minimum marks required in the above subjects (PCB) are 40% only. The PWD applicants require 45% marks.
  • The students who are going to appear for the qualifying exam in the year 2023 can also apply.

Application Form

The application process for JIPMER B.Sc. Admission 2023 will take place in online mode. In order to apply, the candidates have to visit the official website of the institute i.e. www.jipmer.edu.in.

  • To start the application submission, the candidates first need to register and create a User ID and Password.
  • Then, the applicants need to login by entering the User ID and Password.
  • In the application form, the aspirants need to enter their academic, contact and personal details.
  • Please be very careful while entering the details in the application form because incorrect details in the application form can result in rejection of the candidature.
  • In addition to the details, the aspirants need to upload the scanned images of photograph and signature.
  • Remember, Polaroid/ Black & White photographs are not acceptable.
  • After entering the details, the candidates should verify them and submit the application form.
  • Once the application form is submitted, the aspirants have to pay the application fee.
  • Don’t forget to take a printout of the application form confirmation page and application fee receipt.

Application Fee

The application fee for JIPMER B.Sc. Nursing 2023 is as follows:

  • UR & P-UR: Rs. 1500/-
  • OBC & P-OBC: Rs. 1500/-
  • SC/ ST & P-SC/ ST: Rs. 1200/-
  • PWD: Nil (Exempted from the application fee)

Note: The bank transaction charge will be additional.

Mode of Payment

  • All the applicants need to pay the fee online using a credit card, debit card or internet banking.

Exam Center

The exam is proposed to be held in the following cities. However, the authorities may add or remove any exam center city in the future.

  • New Delhi
  • Chennai
  • Kolkata
  • Mumbai
  • Vijayawada
  • Puducherry
  • Trivandrum

A candidate can select three exam center cities while filling the application form.

Admit Card

  • The candidates who will submit the complete application form before the last date can download the admit card from the official website.
  • An admit card will carry the following important information.
    • Name along with date of birth of the candidate
    • Candidate’s photograph and signature
    • Exam center and Roll number.
  • It is compulsory for every applicant to carry the admit card along with a photo ID proof in original at the exam center. Also, carry a photocopy of photo ID proof while appearing for the exam.
  • Keep the JIPMER B.Sc. Nursing admit card (hall ticket) safe even after the exam because it will be required at the time of counselling.

Result

  • The institute will declare the result of entrance exam online through the official website www.jipmer.edu.in.
  • The information about the marks and percentile score secured by the candidates will be available on the scorecard.
  • Minimum percentile score required for the candidates of different categories are as follows:
    • UR & P-UR: 50
    • UR – PwD : 45
    • SC/ ST/ OBC: 40
  • The candidates will be ranked on the basis of their merit position.
  • Institute will invite the aspirants for counselling only on the basis of their ranks.
  • The successful candidates will be able to download their rank card from the official website after a few days of result declaration.

Counselling

  • The institute will invite the successful candidates for counselling process through a notification on the official website.
  • Aspirants need to report to the counselling center as per the schedule that will release at the time of result announcement.
  • Biometric fingerprint verification will take place at the time of counselling. The candidates will not be allowed to take part in the counselling in case of a fingerprint mismatch.
  • During the counselling process, the institute will verify the documents of the candidates. So, it is mandatory for every applicant to carry all the relevant documents at the time of counselling.
  • The admission will be granted after proper verification of documents.
  • In order to confirm the admission, the candidates need to pay the admission fee.
  • The counselling will take place in multiple rounds depending upon the availability of seats.
