What is JEE Main?

JEE Main is actually an all India based common engineering entrance examination by qualifying which students can get admission to undergraduate courses such as B.Tech and B.E in numerous engineering colleges across the country. Few years ago, IIT-JEE and AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination) were conducted separately but in the year 2012, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared that a single national level engineering entrance exam i.e. JEE will be conducted instead of IIT-JEE and AIEEE examinations separately. JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) is basically conducted in two different phases namely JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Candidates can get admission into various NIT’s and other engineering colleges across India by qualifying the exam JEE Main. In order to get admission into IIT’s candidates will further have to qualify the exam JEE Advanced. In sort, qualifying JEE Main is the minimum criteria to appear JEE Advance exam paper.
