JEE Main 2022: Session 2 Exam Date Postponed

JEE Main 2022 session II exam will be conducted from 25th July 2022 onwards. National Testing Authority (NTA) is the authority that holds the responsibility of conducting JEE Main exam for admission to B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Plan. It is the most popular and one of the most prestigious engineering entrance exams in India. A large number of colleges including NITs offer admission based on the JEE Main score. It is an online exam that will be conducted two times this year- April & May in a calendar year. Candidates who are looking to appear in this exam need to make sure they are eligible and fill and submit application form before the last date that is 30th June 2022. JEE Main 2022 Eligibility Criteria

It is very important for aspiring candidates to make sure that they are eligible before filling the application form. Given below are the eligibility criteria in order to apply for JEE Main 2022 exam.

Age Limit

  • There is no age limit to take JEE Main exam in 2022. However, candidates may have to fulfill age criteria of institute (s) they are seeking admission into.
  • Candidates who have passed class 12th / equivalent examination in 2020, 2021 or appearing in 2022 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) examination – 2022.

List of Qualifying Exam

  • 10+2 final exam organized by a recognized state or central board.
  • Intermediate or twoyear PreUniversity exam organized by a recognized board or university.
  • Final exam of 2year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy
  • Senior Secondary School Exam by NIOS with a minimum of five subjects.
  • Any Public School/ Board/ University examination in India or any foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational exam
  • A diploma of minimum 3 years duration
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.

Subjects to study in the qualifying exam

The subject combination depends upon the course as explained below.

  • B.Tech./ B.E.: Aspirants must have passed the qualifying examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects.
  • B.Arch: Cleared 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
  • B.Planning: Should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics.

JEE Main Application form 2022

The application form for JEE Main 2022 2nd session examination has been released in online mode on 1st June 2022. Candidates who are eligible to apply may visit the official website of NTA in order to begin the application process. Given below are the steps by which you can apply for the JEE Main exam.

  • To start the application process you need to visit the official website of NTA.
  • On the official website, candidates have to register by giving a few of their basic details like name, phone number, email address, etc.
  • Once registered, the login credentials will be generated for the candidates.
  • Next, the aspirants need to sign in using the credentials created at the time of registration.
  • Now, the main application form will appear on your screen. In the main application form, aspirants will be asked to provide their complete educational, personal, and contact details.
  • In addition to the details, applicants will also be required to upload the scanned images of their passport size photograph and signature.
  • All candidates are also required to pay the necessary application fee.
  • Finally, the candidates should take a printout of the application form submitted.

Application Fee

Mode of payment: NTA will accept the application fee in online mode through Credit Card /Debit Card (except Master/Visa Card) / NetBanking/UPI).

JEE Main 2022 Admit Card

  • Once the application form submission process gets completed, NTA will make the admit card for the examination available.
  • The admit card will release in online mode through the official website of NTA.
  • Candidates will be able to download their admit cards by providing their registration details.
  • The details about the examination venue and schedule will be mentioned on their admit card.
  • No candidates will be allowed to enter the examination venue without an admit card and one photo ID proof.
  • Keep the admit card safe after the examination as it will be required at the time of the admission.

Those candidates who are looking to appear for the exam should know and understand the pattern of exam. The exam pattern of JEE Main 2022 is explained below

Paper – 1: For B. Tech

  • Mode of examination: Online (Computer based test)
  • Duration of the examination: 3 hours
  • Number of questions: 90 Questions
  • Type of questions: Objective type MCQs for section 1 & Section 2 contains questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value.
  • Maximum Marks: 300
  • Marking Scheme: Each question will carry 4 marks.
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. There will be no negative marking for section B
  • Language of questions: English or Hindi (Candidates from Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli can opt for Gujarati as well)

Paper – 2A: For B. Arch

  • Number of question: 80 questions + 2 drawing questions
  • Maximum Marks: 400
  • Type of questions: Objective type MCQ for Maths and Aptitude. Out of 10 questions in section B, answers of 5 questions will be a numerical value with no negative marking.
  • Marking Scheme: +4 for a correct answer and -1 for an incorrect answer

JEE Main 2022 Result

  • After organising the examination, NTA will declare the JEE Main Result 2022 in online mode.
  • Before declaring the result, authorities will also publish answer keys on the official website.
  • Candidates will be able to check their results by providing their roll numbers and other details.
  • The details about the total and subject wise marks secured by the candidates will be mentioned on the result card.
  • There shall be no provision for re-valuation/re-checking of the Score. No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.

JEE Main Counselling 2022

  • Please note that NTA is an exam conducting authority not an admission provider.
  • After clearing the exam, the candidates have to participate in different counselling process which accepts JEE Main score in order to get admission.
  • JoSAA will conduct the counselling to allot seats in 106 participating institutes including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs.
  • In the counselling process, candidates will be asked about their choice of institute and branch of engineering.
  • Admissions are provided based on the choices provided by the candidates and JEE Main exam marks.
