JEE Advanced 2023 is an engineering entrance exam that will be organized by anyone of the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) i.e. IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati or IISc Bangalore (Indian Institute of Science). It is one of the most prestigious engineering entrance exams in India that offers admission into top engineering colleges in India including 23 IITs. Aspiring candidates should note that it is not possible to apply directly for the JEE Advanced exam. Candidates first need to appear for the JEE Main exam and then the top 2.5 lakhs candidates will become eligible for the JEE Advanced exam. JEE Advanced 2023 Overview

    • JEE Advanced 2023 is a national level exam to be conducted in nearly 161 examination centers in India. Additionally, the exam will also be conducted in some overseas locations as well.
    • While filling the application form, the candidates have to choose 5 exam centers from an IIT Zone.
    • A candidate can appear for JEE Main 3 times in 3 consecutive years but for the JEE Advanced, a candidate can appear only for 2 times.
    • There is no fixed exam pattern for this exam.
    • Please check the eligibility criteria before applying because the application fee is non-refundable.
    • Before the result declaration, authorities will also make JEE Advanced Answer Keys 2023 available.

JEE Advanced 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The general eligibility criteria need to be fulfilled in order to appear for the JEE Advanced 2023 examination is given below.

Age Limit

  • There is no upper or lower age limit for the exam.

Number of Attempts

  • A candidate can appear for 2 times that too in 2 consecutive years.

Educational Qualification

  • The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with at least 75% marks in aggregate (the subjects must include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and one language).
  • Students who are going to appear for the 10+2 or equivalent exam in 2023 can also apply.

JEE Main Performance

  • The candidate should be in the top 250000 candidates as per the JEE Main exam performance.

JEE Advanced 2023 Application Form

JEE Advanced 2023 application form will be available after the declaration of JEE main result. Please note that the application form for this exam will be released by the IISc Bangalore or IIT that will conduct the exam.

  • In order to apply, the aspirants first need to register on the official website.
  • It is necessary for the applicants to provide their JEE Main roll number during the registration.
  • Next, the candidates may log in and fill the rest of the personal and academic details in the application form.
  • After that, applicants have to upload the scanned images of the following documents on the application form.
    • Class 10th or Birth certificate (As a date of birth proof)
    • Class 12th certificate
    • Category certificate (SC/ ST/ OBC – NCL candidates)
    • PWD certificate
    • Scribe request letter (if the scribe is required)
    • DS certificate
    • OCI card/ PIO card
  • The next step of the application process is the payment of application fees.
  • Candidates should also take a print out of the application form submitted and fee receipt for future requirements.

Application Fee

The application fees for candidates from different categories are as follows.

Students who will register for an exam center in India

  • Indian Nationals (including PIO/OCI)
    • Female candidates of any category: Rs. 1300/-
    • PWD, SC, ST candidates: Rs. 1300/-
    • All other applicants: Rs. 2600/-
  • Foreign Nationals
    • Candidates from SAARC countries: USD 160/-
    • Candidates from non-SAARC countries: USD 300/-

Students who will register for foreign exam centers

  • Indian Nationals (All categories including PIO/ OCI): USD 160/-
  • Foreign Nationals from SAARC countries: USD 160/-
  • Foreign Nationals from Non-SAARC countries: USD 160/-

Mode of payment

  • Candidates can pay the fees online using a credit card, debit card or Internet banking.
  • Alternatively, the option to pay the fees by cash using a bank challan will also be available.

JEE Advanced 2023 Admit Card

  • The facility to download an admit card for the JEE Advanced exam will be available online through the official website.
  • To download an admit card, candidates need to enter their registration numbers and passwords created during registration.
  • An admit card comprises important information like examination timing, venue, etc.
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall without having an admit card.
  • It is necessary to carry one photo ID proof along with an admit card at the time of the examination.

JEE Advanced 2023 Result and Counselling

  • After conducting the exam, authorities will upload the result in online mode via official website.
  • Candidates may check the result by entering their registration number, date of birth, email address and mobile number.
  • Information such as Common Rank List (CRL) rank and status of qualifying etc. will be present on the result card.
  •  Those who will score more than cutoff marks will be invited to the counselling process.
  • JoSAA will organize and manage the counselling for JEE Advanced 2023.
  • The candidates will be allotted colleges as per their ranks in the exam.

Question – 1: I have completed my 10+2 in the year 2020. Can I apply for the JEE Advanced 2023 exam?

Answer: No, you are not eligible. Only those candidates who appeared for the 10+2 exam in the year 2021 or 2022 are eligible.

Answer: Yes, the exam authorities will arrange scribble pads for every candidate during the exam.

Question – 3: Do I have to choose the language of question paper at the time of registration?
