Jammu & Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET): JKCET is a state level entrance exam. It is conducted annually by JKBOPEE for admission into various disciplines of engineering offered by different government aided and private institutes/colleges in the state. Students can avail the form for JKCET in the 1st week of February 2022. Candidates aspiring to pursue engineering from J & K will need to appear for the JKCET examination.

Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE Main): Another way to enroll into different engineering programs offered by colleges/universities in the state is through JEE Main. JEE Main is a national level engineering entrance exam conducted on a yearly basis by CBSE for admission into IITs and other premier engineering institutes in the country. Admission into B.Tech program is done on the basis of the score obtained by a student in JEE Main. Likewise, for B.Tech admission in Jammu & Kashmir, many colleges consider JEE Main score for admission. Candidates can apply for JEE Main through online mode.

Note: for admission into IIT Jammu, candidates will have to give JEE Advanced after JEE Main.

Students can apply for engineering program via Jammu & Kashmir B.Tech entrance exam 2022. The form for JKCET will be made available by the authorities in the 1st week of February 2022. The application form for both JKCET and JEE Main can be filled online by visiting the official website. Students need to fill the form correctly and carefully as once the form is submitted successfully no change request will be entertained thereafter. They also have to pay a required amount of fee as application fee. Failing the payment of which, the application form will be rejected. Students should apply early to avoid the last-minute rush or technical issues.

Selection procedure for Jammu & Kashmir B.Tech Admission 2022

For JKCET

  • To be eligible for counseling and admission, a candidate needs to score minimum cutoff marks in the JKCET.
  • The counseling procedure will be based on the scores obtained by a candidate as per the merit list of JKCET.
  • The board may opt for either of the counselling procedure – online or physical counselling as per their discretion.
  • Candidates will need to fill the preference form in the counseling process.
  • The final allotment of seat will be done as per the availability of seats, preference of college and branch, candidate’s score and other such parameters.
  • On successful seat allotment, students need to report to the concerned college for finishing admission related formalities.

For JEE Main

  • Admission through JEE Main will be done on the basis of JEE Main score obtained by a candidate.
  • After the result declaration, candidates need to sit for the counseling process where a seat will be allotted to them as per their preferred branch and college.
  • On completion of the counseling process, candidates need to report to the college allotted to them during the counseling to finish the admission related formalities.
