ISI 2022: Application Form (From 1 March), Exam Date (Out), Eligibility Criteria

ISI 2022 exam dates for JRF-Computer Science and other subjects have been released now and its application form is available from 1st March 2022. The application form for ISI admission 2022 is likely to release in 2nd week of January 2022 through online mode. Candidates interested in admission to any of the course offered by the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) can apply for the same before the last date that is 31st March 2022. Selection of the candidates for admission to B. Math. (Hons), B Stat (Hons), M Stat, MS (QE), M Math, MS (QMS), M Tech (CS), MS (LIS), M Tech (QROR), PG Diplomas and Research Fellowships will be done on the basis of written exams. ISI 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates should meet the criteria prescribed below to be eligible for ISI 2022:

Undergraduate courses:

  • Bachelor of Mathematics (Hons): The candidates need to clear their class 12th or equivalent exam with Mathematics and English.
  • Bachelor of Statistics (Hons): Applicants who have passed their class 12th or equivalent exam with Mathematics and English are eligible.

Postgraduate courses:

  • Master of Mathematics: Those with a bachelor’s degree of minimum three years in Mathematics or BE/ B.Tech degree with Mathematics as a subject or B.Stat degree from ISI are eligible.
  • Master of Statistics: Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree of minimum three years or BE/ B.Tech degree with Statistics as a subject or B.Math from ISI or a postgraduate diploma in Statistical Methods and Analytics from ISI.
  • MS in Quantitative Economics: The applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree of minimum three years in any discipline. Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level is also required.
  • MS in Quality Management Science: Applicants who hold a bachelor’s degree of minimum three years with Mathematics as a subject or a BE/ B.Tech degree in any discipline are eligible.
  • MS in Library and Information Science: The candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree of minimum three years in any discipline in order to be eligible.
  • M.Tech in Computer Science and Master of Technology in Cryptology and Security: A master’s degree in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics/ Electronic Science/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Information Technology or BE/ B.Tech degree in relevant discipline is required.
  • M.Tech in Quality, Reliability & Operations Research: Candidates should hold a master’s degree in Statistics with Physics and Chemistry at the 10+2 level or a master’s degree in Mathematics with Statistics as a subject at UG or PG level and Physics and Chemistry at the 10+2 level or a BE/ B.Tech degree in relevant discipline.

Postgraduate diploma courses:

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Statistical Methods & Analytics: The applicants are required to hold a bachelor’s degree of minimum three years in any discipline with Mathematics as a subject or BE/ B.Tech degree in relevant discipline.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Applications: Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree of minimum three years in any discipline with Mathematics as a subject.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Agricultural and Rural Management with Statistical Methods and Analytics: A three/ four-year bachelor’s degree in any discipline with Mathematics/ Statistics as a subject at 10+2 level is required.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Business Analytics: The candidates must hold a graduate/ postgraduate degree with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Fellowship programs:

  • JRF in Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Economics, Computer Science, and Quality, Reliability & Operations Research: The candidates with a master’s degree in the relevant field are eligible.

ISI 2022 Application Form

ISI 2022 application form has been released on the official website of the institute www.isical.ac.in on 1st March 2022. The candidates must make sure that they fulfill all the prescribed eligibility criteria before applying for the entrance exam.

  • The candidates can fill the application form by providing their basic personal details, educational details, contact details, etc.
  • Photograph and signature of the candidates along with other documents should also be uploaded in the application form in scanned format.
  • Employment details if applicable should be provided into the application form as well.
  • Once all the details are provided into the application form correctly, the candidates can submit it online.
  • A printout of the application form should be taken after submission and kept safe for future reference.
  • There is no need to send the printout of the application form or any kind of document to the institute.

Important Documents

Scanned copies of the following documents should be uploaded into the application form:

  1. Clear colored photograph taken against light background
  2. Signature on white background with black/ blue ink pen
  3. First and last pages of passport in case nationality is not Indian
  4. Mark sheets/ grade cards from class 10th onwards
  5. Caste certificate for SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL candidates
  6. Disability certificates for PWD candidates
  7. INMO certificate issued by NBHM for B.Stat/ B.Math, if applicable
  8. GATE score card for M.Tech CS/ CrS, if applicable

Application fee:

  • For general category candidates: Rs. 1250/-
  • For general category female candidates: Rs. 750/-
  • For SC/ ST/ OBC (NCL)/ PWD candidates: Rs. 625/-

ISI 2022 Exam Pattern

The basic pattern for the ISI 2022 entrance exam is provided below:

  • Mode of exam: Pen and paper based exam

  • Exam duration: 2 hours (for each session)

  • Total marks: Based on course

ISI 2022 Admit Card

ISI 2022 admit card will be released online at the official website of Indian Statistical Institute- https://www.isical.ac.in/.

  • Admit card along with the unique registration number will be released around 3-4 weeks before the day of the exam. Once the admit card is generated, the applicants will be notified by email.
  • The admit card can be downloaded by visiting the official website and logging in to students’ dashboard.
  • After downloading, the candidates should take a printout of the admit card and carry it to the exam center on the exam day.
  • There will be a separate admit card for each test (forenoon and afternoon OR only forenoon shift).
  • Candidates are advised to keep their admit card safe till the complete process of admission is over.

ISI 2022 Result

  • Authorities will declare the result of the entrance exam through online mode in the month of June 2022 (tentatively).
  • Candidates will be able to check their result by visiting the official website of the institute.
  • On the basis of the performance in the written tests, candidates will be shortlisted to appear for an interview.
  • Candidates who clear the interview round as well, their names will be included in the merit list.
  • Further process of admission of the candidates will be conducted as per their names in the merit list.

ISI 2022 Admission

  • ISI 2022 admission process includes written test, personal interview, verification of documents etc.
  • At the time of reporting for admission, documents of the candidates will be verified and therefore they should carry with them all documents in original and photocopy.
  • After successful verification of documents, the candidates will be allotted seats as per their merit.
  • Candidates should then complete the other formalities of the admission and secure their seats.

Answer: The candidates who report to the exam center without a valid admit card will not be granted entry into the exam hall.

Question: If an ineligible candidate gets admission, what will happen next?

Answer: If an ineligible candidate is able to secure admission using any unfair means, his/ her candidature will be cancelled at any later stage when the ineligibility is discovered.
