ISI 2021: Application Form(17 June), Eligibility Criteria, Exam Date

The Indian Statistical Institute selects candidates for admission into different degree programmes on the basis of an admission test. Different programmes are offered at different ISI campus and the candidates can provide their choice for programme and campus during counseling. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications from 3rd May 2021 onwards. The forms will be released online whereas the exam will be conducted through offline mode. ISI 2021 Main Highlights

  • Admit card to appear for the admission test will not be sent to the candidates through post or courier.
  • Candidates before applying must make sure that they meet the eligibility criteria laid down by the institute.
  • A valid email address and phone number should be used in registration as they will be used for communication with the candidates.
  • Application fee once submitted will not be refunded under any circumstances.
  • If a student is asked to discontinue from a programme for having failed or on any disciplinary ground, he/she is not eligible for readmission to the same programme.

ISI 2021 Eligibility Criteria

The course-wise eligibility criteria for appearing in ISI exam 2021 are provided below:

  • Bachelor of Statistics (Honors) and Bachelor of Mathematics (Honors): The applicants should have done class 12th exam or equivalent with Mathematics and English subjects.
  • Master of Statistics: A 3-year Bachelor’s degree or BE/ B.Tech with Statistics as a subject, or B.Math from ISI or a Postgraduate Diploma in Statistical Methods and Analytics from ISI is required.
  • Master of Mathematics: Candidates should hold a 3-year bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a BE/ B.Tech degree with Mathematics as a subject or a B Stat degree from ISI.
  • Master of Science in Quantitative Economics: Those with a 3-year bachelor’s degree in any discipline and a pass in class 12th exam with Mathematics as a subject are eligible.
  • Master of Science in Quality Management Science: Applicants having a 3-year bachelor’s degree with Mathematics or a BE/ B.Tech degree in any discipline can apply.
  • Master of Science in Library and Information Science: The candidates need to have a 3-year Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • Master of Technology in Computer Science and Master of Technology in Cryptology and Security: A master’s degree in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics/ Electronic Science/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Information Technology or a BE/ B.Tech degree or equivalent is required.
  • Master of Technology in Quality, Reliability & Operations Research: The candidates need to hold a master’s degree in Statistics with Physics and Chemistry at the 10+2 level or a master’s degree in Mathematics with Statistics as a subject at UG or PG level and Physics and Chemistry at the 10+2 level or a BE/ B.Tech degree or equivalent.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Statistical Methods & Analytics: Those with a 3-year bachelor’s degree in any discipline with Mathematics as a subject or a BE/ B.Tech or other equivalent qualification are eligible.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Applications: The applicants should hold a 3-year bachelor’s degree in any discipline with Mathematics as a subject.
  • JRF in Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Economics, Computer Science, and Quality, Reliability & Operations Research: A master’s degree in the relevant field is required.

ISI Application Form 2021

ISI 2021 application form will be released online on the official website of the institute www.isical.ac.in. Those who meet the prescribed eligibility for admissions can apply for the exam.

  • In the application form, basic personal details related to the candidates such as name, date of birth, email address, etc will be asked.
  • Academic details especially those related to the qualifying exam will also be asked into the form.
  • Candidates need to upload their photograph and signature into the application form as well.
  • After providing all the information into the application form, candidates need to submit it with the application fee.
  • The applicants should then take a printout of the submitted application form and keep it with them for future reference.

Application fee:

  • For general category candidates, the application fee will be Rs. 1250/- and for SC/ ST/ OBC (NCL)/ PWD candidates, fee will be Rs. 625/-.
  • Payment of the application fee can be done online using debit card/ credit card/ net banking or through Challan by cash payment at SBI branch.

ISI 2021 Exam Pattern

The ISI 2021 exam pattern overview is provided below:

  • Mode of exam: Offline mode
  • Number of sessions: 2
  • Duration of exam: 2 hours for each session
  • Type of questions: Both objective and subjective type
  • Total marks: 100
  • Negative marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

ISI 2021 Admit Card

  • The admit card will be released for download on the official website and email regarding the same will be sent to the candidates.
  • Applicants can download their admit card using their registration details registration number and password.
  • Candidates should bring a hard copy of the admit card with them while reporting to the exam center.
  • In absence of a valid admit card, the candidates will not be allowed to take their exam.
  • Admit card should be preserved by the candidates as it may also be required at the time of admission.

ISI Result 2021

  • Result of the ISI entrance exam will release online and can be checked by visiting the official website isical.ac.in.
  • Based on the marks scored by the candidates, the authorities will prepare a merit list.
  • Candidates with their names in the merit list will be shortlisted for further rounds of admission.
  • For certain programmes, the candidates might need to appear for personal interview or other rounds as applicable.

ISI 2021 Selection Process

  • On the basis of their performance in admission test and interview, the candidates will be selected for admission.
  • Documents of the candidates will also be verified and therefore those reporting for interview should carry the original documents with them.
  • After verification of documents and eligibility, the candidates need to submit fees and complete rest formalities of admission.
  • Failing to report for the interview and admission in given time period will lead to the cancellation of the candidature.

ISI FAQs 2021

Do I get any travel allowance to appear for the interview round?

Institute will provide travel support to SC/ ST candidates and economically backward candidates for attending the interview. Sleeper/ II class rail or bus fare by the shortest route will be provided.

My qualifying exam result has not been declared yet. Can I apply too?

The candidates awaiting results can also apply for the exam. However, the deadline to receive the qualifying degree will be 31st of July in the year of admission, i.e. 2021.
