IPU CET 2020: Notification, Application Form, Syllabus, Pattern

The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University also known as IP University provides an opportunity to the candidates to enroll in various UG & PG programs offered by it through the common entrance tests. The IPU CET 2020 will be conducted by the University to provide admission to the candidates in courses such as B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, MA, B.Com, LLB, BBA, etc. Interested candidates can apply for the exam by visiting the official website of the IPU.

Here candidates should note that the application form for the exam will only be available via online mode. Eligibility Criteria for IPU CET 2020

The eligibility criteria for the IPU CET are given below:

For Undergraduate programs (UG)

Age criteria: The age of the candidates should not exceed 21 years as on 1st August 2020.

B.TechCandidates must have passed class 12th with 55% marks in PCM subject group and must have passed in English as a subject of study. Candidates appearing in class 12th can also apply.
B.Tech (Lateral Entry)Candidates should be a diploma holder (3 years) or a B.sc graduate with mathematics as a compulsory subject. Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks.
BA LLB/BBA LLBCandidates must have passed class 12th from a recognized board with at least 50% marks in along with a pass in English.
BBACandidates should have passed class 12th with English as a compulsory subject and have secured minimum of 50% marks.
LLBGraduation with minimum 50% marks is required
BCACandidates must have passed class 12th or its equivalent with a minimum 50% marks with pass in English and Mathematics or Computer Science / Informatics Practice / Computer Applications / Multimedia & Web Technology / Data Management Application / Web Application as compulsory subject of the non-vocational stream.

OR

Three year Diploma in Engineering with a minimum of 50% marks.

For Postgraduate programs (PG)

Age Criteria: The age of the candidates should not exceed 35 year as on 1st August 2020.

M.TechA candidate must possess a B.E/B.Tech degree or have passed in Grad. IETE/AMIE. Or have passed M.Sc & MCA with minimum 60% marks.
LLMCandidates must possess an LLB degree recognized by the Bar Council of India or equivalent law degree from a foreign university with minimum 50% marks
MCACandidates should have done engineering or BCA and have secured 50% marks.
MBA & Allied ProgramsCandidates must possess a bachelor’s degree with 50% marks

IPU CET 2020 Application Form

The application form for the IPU CET Exam will only be available via online mode. Candidates can register themselves for the exam using details such as – Email ID, Mobile number, Name etc. Once the registration is done, applicants need to check their Email ID for the registration details. The same should be used for login to fill the application form. The detail in the form must be filled carefully once the form is submitted successfully; no request for change in the particulars will be permitted by the authority. Applicants will also need to upload their scanned photograph and signature while filling the form. They must pay the required application fee to submit their applications successfully. The applications received without the application fee will be considered invalid.

Application Fee

Applicants need to pay Rs. 1000/- as the application fee for the IPU CET Examination and the payment can be made through the credit card/debit card/Net banking.

Exam Pattern

Given below is the exam pattern for IPU CET examination-

  • Exam Mode: Offline (pen and paper based)
  • Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes
  • Language: English (except for B.Ed, which will be conducted in both English and Hindi)
  • Type of Questions: MCQs
  • Marking Scheme: +4 marks will be awarded for every right answer
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer

Syllabus

The syllabus for IPU CET 2020 varies from program to program. Candidates opting for UG degree courses can study as per the syllabus prescribed for class 11th and 12th. Those opting for PG degree courses need to study as per the respective UG level syllabus.

Preparation Tips

Given below are some useful tips for the students with the help of which they can crack the IPU CET 2020 entrance exam-

  1. Collect only a few reference books. Don’t waste time on acquiring books that you won’t’ even study from.
  2. Create a practical time table. Avoid putting unrealistic goals in it that can’t be achieved in a day/week/month.
  3. Stick to the syllabus (if possible).
  4. Practice mock tests as much as you can to improve your performance.
  5. Avoid skipping meals. Always try to maintain your physical and mental well being.
  6. Don’t panic and practice meditation to soothe the mind.
  7. Most importantly, don’t forget to revise the topics you’ve studied at the end of the day.

Admit Card

Candidates can download the admit card for IPU CET 2020 through the official website. Candidates should retain a printout of the admit card for further reference. The admit card will probably be released a week prior to the exam. It is mandatory for all the candidates to carry 2 printouts of the admit card to the exam hall. They also need to carry a valid ID proof along with the hall ticket. Those who do not possess the same will not be permitted to take the exam.

Counselling

The result of the IPU CET 2020 will be published by the authority on its official website. Candidates can check their scores by login into the website. The result date will vary from program to program. Hence, candidates are suggested to visit the website regularly for updates regarding it. Based on the scores obtained by the students in the exam, candidates will be called for the counselling to initiate the admission process. The schedule of the counselling will be released on the website.
