ILICAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of ILICAT 2023 depend upon the course in which you are looking for admission as given below.

  • LLM: Candidates must have an LLB degree with a minimum of 50% marks from any institute/ university recognised by Bar Council of India or Association of Indian University Guidelines (for those who have completed law from a foreign University)
  • D. in Law: LL.M. Degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks is required.
  • PG Diploma: The candidates having a bachelor’s degree can apply. For PG diploma in Labour laws, the aspirants should have LLB or MA in Social Sciences (II division).
  • Online Certificate Courses: The applicant must have completed a diploma or degree in any discipline after completing 10+2.

Note: A relaxation of 5% marks will be given to the candidates from SC/ ST/ PH categories. Kashmiri migrant students will also get a relaxation of 10% marks in the qualifying exam.

Interested and eligible candidates who are looking to apply will be able to access the application form online through the official website.

  • After accessing the form, aspirants have to provide their necessary educational, personal, and contact details.
  • The details to be entered in the application form must be correct. Otherwise, the candidature will be rejected.
  • Apart from the details, aspirants are also required to upload the scanned images of their photograph, signature, and other relevant documents in the application form.
  • The documents must be uploaded as per the specifications mentioned on the official website.
  • Then, the duly filled application form should be submitted along with the requisite application fee.
  • It is advised to keep a copy of the application form submitted for future requirements.

  • For Ph.D.: Rs. 3000/-
  • For LLM: Rs. 2500/-
  • PG Diploma: Rs. 2000/- (those who are looking to apply for multiple diploma courses need to pay the application fee separately)

Mode of payment: The fee can be paid online using a credit card/ debit card/ net banking.

For Ph.D.

  • Mode of exam: Offline (Pen and Paper-based exam)
  • Number of papers: 2
  • Duration of the exam: 3 hours

For LLM

  • Mode of exam: Offline (Pen and Paper-based exam)
  • Language of questions: English
  • Type of questions: Both objective and subjective type of questions.
  • Marking pattern
    • Objective questions: Each question will carry 1 mark. 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
    • Subjective questions: Each question will carry 10 marks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1: How many questions are asked in ILICAT 2023 exam?

Answer: There are four parts of ILICAT exam, however part IV is viva-voce for shortlisted candidates only. Part 1 has 100 objective type questions, part II has 4 objective type question and part III has 4 subjective type questions.

ILICAT 2023 Admit card

  • The admit card for the ILICAT 2023 exam will be made available for download through the official website.

  • After downloading the admit card, candidates have to take its printout and carry that to the examination centre.

  • The institute will declare the ILICAT 2023 result in online mode through the official website only.
  • The result is expected to be released around 15 days after the examination date.
  • Those candidates who will clear the written test will then be called to participate in the personal interview/ viva-voce round.
  • The final selection will be based on the combined performance of the candidate in all rounds of the selection process.
