Eligibility Criteria
For M.Tech (Engineering)
Candidates should have cleared BE/B.Tech.M.Sc (Engg) degree in related area.
For M.Tech (Engineering Geosciences)
Candidates having M.Sc degree in Earth Science or related streams or B.E/B.Tech in Geosciences/Civil engineering along with valid GATE score are eligible.
For M.Tech (Biological Sciences and Bio-Engineering)
Candidates should hold Bachelor’s degree in medicine/Pharmacy in order to apply for M.Tech in Biological Sciences and Bio-Engineering.
*Candidates who are engineering graduates or obtained MBBS degree from IIT Kanpur with a minimum CPI of 8.0 or its above will be exempted from appearing in GATE exam.
How to Apply?
Procedure to apply for IIT Kanpur M.Tech admission 2022 includes:
- Complete the registration procedure by following the official web portal of the authority.
- Candidates will receive a confirmation mail at their registered email ID upon completion of the registration procedure.
- Now get access of application form and provide personal and educational information.
- Upload photograph, signature and other documents as prescribed.
- Make payment of application fee.
- Carefully check all details furnished by you and if everything is found correct then you can move to submission of the form.
Following documents need to be uploaded in (.jpg or .png) format
- Date of birth or its equivalent certificate (Class X certificate);
- Scorecard of GATE/CSIR/UGC;
- Qualifying degree mark sheet;
- ST/ SC/OBC(NCL) Certificate;
- PD certificate, in case applicable;
Application Fee: Rs 400 (Rs 200 for SC/ST)
Candidates need to make payment of application fee either by the credit card/debit card or through payment gateway Via (AXIS Bank).

Candidates would be selected by IIT Kanpur for M.Tech programme according to their performance in GATE exam.
