IISER Berhampur PhD Admission 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who wish to apply for IISER Berhampur PhD Admission 2022 should meet the eligibility criteria prescribed below:
Age limit:
- Age of the applicants should not exceed 28 years at the time of joining the PhD program.
Academic qualification:
- M.Sc/ M.Tech degree or equivalent in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics or in any relevant interdisciplinary area closely related to the mainstream with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PD categories) or equivalent CGPA/ CPI is required to be eligible for PhD admission.
- Additionally, a certificate of national level exam like National Eligibility Test (NET)/ GATE/ UGC-JRF/ NBHM/ CSIR-JRF/ NET-LS/ INSPIRE-PhD or equivalent is mandatory. The certificate/ fellowship must be valid at the time of admission.
- Candidates who are appearing or are about to appear for final examinations of the qualifying degree programme are eligible to apply for Ph.D. programme. However, if selected, admission to the PhD program would be conditional upon their completing the qualifying degree with the defined marks criteria, before October 31, 2022.
Application Form for IISER Berhampur PhD Admission 2022
The candidates can obtain the IISER Berhampur PhD Admission 2022 application form by visiting the official website of the institute www.iiserbpr.ac.in. No mode other than online will be provided to the candidates to fill and submit the application form.
- To fill the application form, the candidates will have to provide their basic personal, academic, contact and other details as asked.
- Scanned copies of their photograph and signature of the candidates should also be uploaded into the form.
- After providing all the details into the application form, the candidates should submit it online along with the prescribed application fee.

- After completion of interview round, list of candidates who are selected for admission will be displayed on the website of IISER Berhampur.

- Selection of the candidates for PhD admission will be done on the basis of their performance in an interview conducted by IISER Berhampur.
- Those selected for admission will have to report for the same carrying all their documents in original and photocopy.
- Documents as well as eligibility of the candidates will be verified only after which they will be granted final admission.
- All selected candidates will be eligible for either Institute fellowship of Rs. 31,000/- per month or fellowship as per the norms of the funding agency, in vogue, subject to satisfactory performance in their course work.
IISER Berhampur PhD Admission 2022 FAQs
Can I get any relaxation in the prescribed age limit?
Age relaxation of 3 years will be given to candidates of OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category and of 5 years to SC/ ST/ PD/ Female candidates. no relaxation of any other kind will be provided.
Result of my fellowship exam has not been declared yet. Can I still appear for the interview?
Students whose results for any fellowship exam are awaited may also apply with their roll number(s) mentioned in the application. Such candidates may walk-in for the interview provided they have qualified the fellowship examination before the interview date. Call letter will not be sent to such candidates for the interview and they need to write to the head of the department (with [email protected] in CC) and inform if they will attend the interview.
Is there any exemption to the requirement of NET or equivalent certificate?
BS-MS Dual Degree graduates of IISERs and B.Tech graduates of IITs with CPI over 8 are eligible to apply without NET or equivalent certificate.
Do I get any travel or dining allowance for appearing in the interview?
Candidates belonging to SC/ ST category will be provided Travel Allowance (TA) for appearing in the interview. There is however no provision for dining allowance (DA).
