Eligibility Criteria for IISER Admission 2023

The following eligibility criteria need to be fulfilled by the candidates who wish to apply for IISER admission 2023:

For Integrated BS-MS program:

• Candidates of Indian nationality, Persons of Indian Origin and Overseas Citizen of India are eligible to apply.
• For JEE channel, the candidates should hold a ranking under 10000 in Common Rank List in the JEE Advanced exam. For reserved category candidates category ranking will be considered.
• For KVPY channel, the applicants with a KVPY scholarship can apply.
• For SCB channel, those with pass in class 12th exam with Science stream with more than the prescribed cut-off marks of the respective board can apply.

For Integrated PhD program:

• A bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Engineering/ Technology/ Pharmacy/ Biological Sciences/ Biodiversity/ Ecology and Environmental Sciences/ Medical Sciences with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (55% marks for SC/ ST candidates) is required.

For PhD program:

• A master’s degree in Science/ Mathematics along with a minimum of 60% marks in the bachelor’s degree program is required.

IISER Application Form 2023

• The IISER admission application form 2023 will be released through online mode on the official website of the institute www.iiseradmission.in.
• Candidates first need to register themselves by filling a registration form providing basic personal details.
• An OTP will be sent on the mobile number provided in the registration form and after successful verification of the OTP the candidates can obtain the application form.
• To fill the application form, the candidates will be required to provide their rest personal details, academic details, contact details, etc.
• Candidates’ photograph and signature in scanned format should be uploaded in the application form.
• Application form, complete and correct in every respect, can be submitted online along with the required application fee.
• The candidates are suggested to keep a printout of the filled in application form with them for future reference.
• There is no need to send the application form printout or copy of any other document to the institute.

Application fee:

• The application fee for general category candidates will be Rs. 2000/- and for reserved category candidates it will be Rs. 1000/-.
• Payment of the non-refundable application fee can be done online using net banking/ debit card/ credit card.

IISER 2023 Exam Pattern

Basic overview of IISER aptitude test pattern is given below:

• Duration of exam: 180 minutes
• Mode of exam: Computer-based test
• Medium of test: Hindi and English

• Marking scheme: 3 marks will be awarded for each right answer.

IISER 2023 Admit Card

• The candidates will be able to download their admit card for IISER BS-MS aptitude test from the official website of the institute.
• To download the admit card, the candidates need to provide their application number and date of birth.
• A printout of the admit card should be taken after downloading and carried to the exam center.
• Those reporting at the exam center without a valid admit card will not be allowed to enter the exam hall.
• Admit card should be kept safe by the candidates till the whole process of admission is over.

IISER Admission 2023 Result

• Result of the aptitude test will be declared by the authorities tentatively in the month of July 2023.
• Candidates who clear the aptitude test will be eligible to participate in the further rounds of admission like counseling, document verification, seat allotment, etc.
• For this, a merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance test.
• For admission through JEE and KVPY channel, the list will be drawn on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the respective exams.
• Merit list for admission to PhD course will be made on the basis of candidates’ marks in GATE, NET, UGC-JRF or equivalent exams.

IISER Selection Process 2023

• For BS-MS program, the candidates will be selected on the basis of their JEE advanced ranking, KVPY performance or aptitude test, as applicable.
• For PhD degree program, the candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in national level exams like GATE, NET, UGC-JRF or equivalent exams.
• Candidates selected for the admission should then complete the rest formalities and confirm their seats.

Question 1: Can I apply for IISER admission through offline mode?

Answer: No. The application form for admission to IISER will be released and accepted through online mode only.

Answer: SAF is Seat Acceptance Fee and should be submitted by the candidates who are allotted a seat after counseling. Only those who submit SAF in time will be granted final admission.

Question 5: What if an ineligible candidate secures admission?

Answer: Candidature of such applicants will be cancelled when their ineligibility is discovered, even after the admission is granted by mistake.
