The university was named after the first lady prime minister of India Smt. Indira Gandhi. The School of Continuing Education (SOCE) is also one of the leading open schools of the University which is located in New Delhi. The School of Continuing Education offers various Continuing Education programmes through distance learning.Candidates can take admission to pursue the Doctoral Degree, Master’s Degree, PG and Advance Diploma and Diploma programmes in the continuing education from the open school offers.

School of Continuing Education (SOCE)

  • The study programme in rural development is offered with the intent to meet the requirement of trained manpower in rural development.
  • The Discipline of Nutritional Studies is dedicated to the study of human nutrition which tends to build up the expertise in clinical and therapeutic nutrition public nutrition, institution food service management, food safety and quality control and food sciences and technology.
  • The discipline of Child Development is dedicated to the study of human development in the socio-cultural context which focuses the critical childhood years the understanding of the developmental challenges and life-cycle issues.
  • In order to develop the intrapersonal skills in women, the Home Science discipline is offered by the open school to make and develop an understating in Community Resource Management and Fabric and Apparel Sciences.
