The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), which was established in 1985, is a national university. About IGNOU School of Foreign Languages (SOFL)
IGNOU’s School of Foreign Languages (SOFL) is one of the 21 schools of the university which has been established in 2007 to provide innovative, flexible and cost-effective foreign language programmes to learners from all sections of the society. The one and only one purpose with which the SOFL has been setup is to promote communication across borders and countries.
The globalization has brought the world closer and it has also encouraged the study of foreign languages to gain importance in the academic studies. Candidates can make their career in any sector after pursuing the course in the foreign language. They can accomplish the manpower requirement of foreign language experts in each and every department such as global research centre.
The School of Foreign Languages is engaged in three major educational and academic activities which are Diploma Programmes, Certificate Programmes and the Doctoral Degree courses. Candidates can pursue the courses as per their eligibility.
