How to apply for Admission?

Candidates can apply for admission into the IGNOU’s School of Humanity to pursue the PG and Advance Diploma. The admission can be taken either through the online mode or through the offline mode. Candidates can go on the official website of the IGNOU to submit the application form online. The offline application form will be submitted at the regional learning Centre of the university.

Fee Details

• The course fee of the PG Diploma in Book Publishing’ (PGDBP) will be required to be paid at the time of admission.
• Candidates can pay the course fee through the Demand Draft.
• The demand draft issued must be in the favour of IGNOU payable at the city where the Regional Centre is located.

Details of the Programme

Under the PG and Advance Diploma category, the School of Humanity offers the ‘PG Diploma in Book Publishing’(PGDBP). The details of the course have been given below in the following table:

• The PG Diploma in Book Publishing is intended to offer an opportunity for the candidates to be self-employed in the publishing profession.
• Candidates are taught various traits and skills of book publishing in duration of the pursuance of this programme.
• The course includes the specialized editing, copy editing and online proofreading, marketing, distribution and sales etc.
• Candidates are trained by the ‘Federation of Indian Publishers (FIB) and IGNOU has a tied-up with FIB so that candidates can be offered the required skills through dedicated training and guidance.
• Candidates get a Joint Certificate both from IGNOU and FIB on successful completion of the training.

Details of the courses in the programme

• The programme has 8 courses in total.
• Courses from 1st to 4^th are compulsory courses.
• 5^th, 6^th and 7^th courses are optional.
• The Course number 8 is the compulsory course for all where learners would get to work on a project with a publishing house.
