Courses details: MHA and MTTM

• Master of Science (Hospitality Administration) (MHA)

This academic course has been started to offer technical and professional expertise in the field of managing the hotel and hospitality services. MHA is a unique programme offered in association with the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Noida as a lead project. Students can take purse this study programme in regular or distance learning mode.

• Master of Tourism & Travel Management (MTTM)

It is a professional degree course designed to serve the requirements of the tourism industry. It is the perfect choice for all candidates (either employed or Non-working) who want to make a career in the tourism sector. The MTTM Course is of 68 credits.

Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants should satisfy the necessary eligibility criteria if they want to take admission in Master degree courses from IGNOU SOTHSM. The eligibility criteria for IGNOU Master’s Degree (SOTHSM) programmes are as follows:

For Master of Science in Hospitality Administration (MHA)

Educational qualification

• Aspirant should have done B.Sc. Degree in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from NCHMCT and IGNOU

                Or

• Bachelors Degree in Hotel Management and Catering Technology from the institutes approved by AICTE and affiliated with recognized Universities;

                 Or

• Candidates having three-year diploma in Hotel Management from NCHMCT plus graduation in any discipline can also apply.

                 Or

• Faculty for Hotel Management Institutes/colleges satisfying any of the above qualifications with no less than 2- years of teaching/industry experience may eligible for admission.

Age limit

There will be no age limit.

For Master of Tourism & Travel Management (MTTM)

MTTM has the following two categories:

• Category 1: (Total course fee – Rs. 9,000)

Candidates should have done BTS; BA (Tourism); Bachelor’s in Hotel Management (approved by AICTE), B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration (BHM) and those candidates who have passed their Graduation in any filed along with a Diploma in Tourism, which is recognized in the University system or by AICTE are also eligible to apply.

• Category 2: (Total course fee – Rs. 11,000)

Any bachelor degree holder is eligible for admission. However, all students of category II will have to qualify 4 additional courses during their period of study.

Age limit

There will be no age limit.

Admission process

Admission of candidates to above said courses will be done through an entrance test named NCHMCT.
