IGNOU Phd in Computer Science 2023(PHDCS): Admission, Eligibility Criteria

IGNOU PhD in Computer Science 2023: Applications will be invited by IGNOU School of Computer and Information Sciences (SOCIS) for admission to research degree courses i.e. M.Phil and PhD courses for the academic session 2023-24. The university offers Phd and M.Phil courses in various streams. Admission will be offered on the basis of common entrance organized by the university. IGNOU Phd Computer Science: course and fee details:

• Name of the course: Doctor of Philosophy Computer Science (PHDCS)
• Minimum Duration: 2 Years
• Maximum Duration: 5 Years
• Programme fee: Rs. 14,000

Eligibility Criteria for IGNOU PHDCS

For PhD admission

• Candidates must have done Master’s Degree and/or M.Phil in the relevant field along with the qualifications as prescribed in the information brochure.
• Applicants need to clear the NET.

Note: Those who possess M.Phil degree (along with course work and dissertation both) or have cleared NET (organized by CSIR/ UGC/ICAR) or any other equivalent examination will be exempted from appearing in the Entrance Test conducted by the university.

For M.Phil admission:

• Candidates must be passed master’s degree of any recognized University/other qualifications recognized as equivalent thereto in the related fields.
• Applicants have to clear the qualifying examination with no less than 55% marks at Post Graduation level (50% marks for candidates belonging to reserved categories such as ST, SC, OBC, and PWD).

Admission Process

Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of entrance examination followed by personal interview. Candidates, who are exempted from appearing in the Entrance Test, will also be called for interview. Call letters for admission will be sent to the selected applicants only.
