How to apply for Admission?

Candidates, who wish to pursue the diploma programmes viz., Diploma in Creative Writing in English (DCE) and Diploma in Urdu (DUL), can apply for admission into the IGNOU’s School of Humanity. The admission in the Open University (IGNOU) can be taken one or the other way i.e., the online mode or the offline mode. In order to apply through the online mode, candidates need to visit the official website of the IGNOU to submit the diploma admission cum application form. The offline application forms can be submitted by the candidates through the regional learning Centre of the university.

Fee Details

  • The course fee of both the Diploma programmes is required to be paid at the time of the admission.
  • Candidates need to pay the course fee through the Demand Draft.
  • The demand draft issued by the bank must be in the favour of IGNOU payable at the city where the Regional Centre is located.

Details of the Programme

  • The Diploma Programme in Creative Writing in English has been designed to provide understanding, skills and professional knowledge about the art of writing.
  • It also helps candidates develop the creative ability of the candidates who want to make their career as a professional freelance writer.
  • This Programme also offers the training in imaginative writing related to the feature articles (women’s issues, book reviews, etc), writing short stories, and scripts for TV/Radio, and writing poetry.

Details of the Diploma courses in the programme

  • The Diploma in Creative Writing in English comprises two compulsory and four elective courses.
  • Each course is of four credits.
  • The Diploma in Urdu (DUL)comprises five courses.
  • Two of five courses are compulsory and three are optional.
  • The aim is to deliver the knowledge of the historical background of Urdu language and literature and comprehension capability of Urdu prose and poetry.
