ICAI 2022: Exam Pattern, Dates, Application Form

Candidates wishing to pursue a career as a chartered accountant must apply for the examinations at different levels conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). Candidates need to clear all the courses i.e. foundation, intermediate and final course in order to become a chartered accountant. Once a candidate clears a stage, he/she can proceed to the next one by registering for the exam. It is important for the candidates to clear the exams at all the stages. The ICAI 2022 exams are held twice a year in the month of May and November.

ICAI 2022 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for ICAI 2022 is as follows-

For foundation course

Candidates need to qualify a total of four papers in order to clear the foundation course. Here is the description of those papers-

ICAI 2022 Application Form

Candidates can proceed for the application form filling part only through the online mode i.e. by visiting the official website of the ICAI. The application form will be available for different levels of the ICAI exam. Candidates first need to ensure the level in which they want to appear. The application form will entail details like applicant’s name, phone number, email id, address, religion, gender, educational details, etc. These details should be filled very carefully as there is no scope for correction once the application form is submitted. They must go through the entire form before making the final submission. Candidates need to pay a requisite amount of application fee for the exam. The applications received without the payment will be considered invalid and incomplete.

Application Fee

The application fee structure varies according to the different level of the courses. Here is the fee to be paid by the student for appearing in ICAI examination-

Application fee for foundation course

Candidates wishing to take the test at the Indian centers must pay Rs. 1000/-. For exam center in Kathmandu, they need to pay Rs. 1700/- and for centers in Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai and Muscat, US $300 has to be paid.

Eligibility Criteria for ICAI 2022

It is compulsory for the applicants to fulfill the necessary requirements for appearing in the exam. The eligibility criteria for the ICAI exam is as follows-

For foundation course

Educational Qualification: Candidates should have cleared class 12th examination from a recognized board as constituted by the law in India or recognized by the central government and its equivalent.

Mandatory: Candidates must have registered themselves for the foundation course and have undergone at least four months of study period before appearing in the foundation examination. Students registered on or before 30th June/ 31st December can appear in November/ May examination.

For Intermediate course

  • Candidates who have done graduation or post graduation in commerce with minimum 55% aggregate marks or its equivalent from a recognized university need not appear in the foundation course. They can directly apply for intermediate course. However, they can appear in the intermediate exam only after completing nine months of practical training.
  • Those who have registered for the exam through foundation course route or intermediate examination must go through the eight months of study course before they appear for the intermediate exam for the first time.

For final course

Once the candidates clear both the groups of the intermediate examination, they can register for the final course. Such candidates can take the final exam during the last few months of the practical training. They also must have completed 4 weeks of Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (AICITSS).

ICAI 2022 Admit Card

The admit card for all the levels of the exam will be provided on the official website of the ICAI. Candidates should thoroughly check the details printed on the admit card. If they find any discrepancy in the hall ticket they must contact the officials immediately without delay. The admit card must be brought to the exam venue or else the applicants won’t be able to take the exam.

Result

Candidates can check the ICAI 2022 result from the official website using their roll number or registration number. The authority will also provide them the marks statement i.e. the scores obtained by them in the exam. The result for all the levels of the exam will be announced separately on the website. Candidates should keep tabs on the ICAI’s website for regular updates on the exam.
