About HIHT University, Dehradun
Established in 1989 under the support of the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust, HIHT University is one of those oldest and rare institutions that is catering the humanity and also offering the students with outstanding education. The University is spread across over 200 acres in the foothills of the Himalayas; the campus offers a calm and serene environment for the people residing in the campus. The campus area is divided into 3 sections namely academic section, patient care section, and residential section. The Government of India gave Deemed University status to the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences. It is established under section three of University Grants Commission Act no 1956.
Infrastructure of HIHT University, Dehradun
HIHT has modern and well designed infrastructure. It has facilitates various well equipped theatres for lectures, seminar rooms or tutorial rooms, classrooms and training purposes. Courses, fees and eligibility criteria offered by HIHT, Dehradun:
Bachelor of Science (Medicine) – three years, (5 courses)
The applicants should have cleared the 10+2, i.e. Intermediate examination or its equivalent examination of any recognized Indian Board or University with Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English major subjects with securing at least of 50% marks in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology taken collectively for BPT and minimum 45% aggregate marks for all other courses.

- MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) – five years
The applicant should have passed in the subjects of Chemistry, Physics, and Biology or Biotechnology and English separately and should have scored at least of 60% aggregate marks (50% marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates) taken together in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology/Biotechnology and minimum 50% (40% for candidates from SC/ST/OBC) marks individually in each of the above specified subjects in the qualifying examination.

- Doctor of Surgery (MD) – 10 Courses
A candidate must be a MBBS degree holder from a recognized medical college/ a foreign medical degree included in the schedules of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. He/She has gained full registration either from the Medical Council of India or from any of the State Medical Councils after finishing necessary rotating internship.
Course Fee: 33 Lakh
- Master of Physiotherapy- two years
Applicants should have cleared the BPT from any recognized University and must have gained a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. Candidates who are non-resident Indians/ foreign nationals/persons of Indian origin must have a certificate of equivalence from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, before the time of admission.
Course fee: 2.2 lakh
Master of Surgery- two years (5 courses)
As similar to Doctor of Surgery
Doctor of Philosophy (Medicine) – three years
Applicant should have a Master’s Degree in the appropriate subject of this University or any other recognized University and must have successfully cleared the qualifying examination in the first try with minimum of 60% marks.
- M.Sc – two years, (2 courses)
As similar to Master of Physiotherapy
