GPAT 2023: Application Form , Eligibility Criteria, Exam Dates

GPAT 2023: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the official notification for the commencement of the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT 2023). The GPAT is conducted by NTA as per the directions given by MHRD, Govt. of India in order to find the eligible and able candidates for admission into M.Pharm. programme. There are various institutes in the country which offer admission into the M.Pharm. programme on the basis of the score obtained by the candidates in the GPAT. Candidates, who have completed their B.pharm. from a recognized institute, can apply for GPAT 2023.

GPAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can be eligible to apply for GPAT admission only if they fulfil the eligibility criteria as per the details given in the following points:

  • Candidates must be an Indian citizen.
  • The candidate must have completed Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2 including lateral entry candidates).
  • Candidates who are appearing in the final year of the B.Pharm. programme are also eligible to apply for GPAT 2023.
  • Candidates having B.Tech (Pharmaceutical and fine chemical technology) or its equivalent degree are not permitted to apply.

GPAT  2023 Online Registration

Candidates, who want to apply for GPAT are required to know the application form filling and submission method as given below:

Pre-requisites Before Starting the Online Registration for GPAT 2023: 

We suggest aspirants to keep following things ready before you start the GPAT registration process:

    • A computer system along with good internet connectivity. There should not be any breakage of the internet during the registration process.
    • Your educational qualification details.
    • Keep a scanned copy of your photograph ready. The photograph must be clicked on a white background. The prescribed size of the photograph is 140 x 160 (≤ 60Kb).
    • Keep a scanned copy of your signature. The signature should be made on a white background. The size of the signature is 60 x 90 (≤ 30Kb).
    • A valid and working email ID which you will be using in further 6 months.
    • A working mobile number.
    • Credit card/debit card details using which you will make the payment of application fee.
  • A printer connected to your system through which you need to print three copies of Challan if you are willing to pay by cash at the bank.

Steps to Register Online for GPAT

Step 1: Reading Instructions and Self Registration 

If you are registering as a new user then you need to read the instructions very carefully, accept the declaration and proceed. You will be asked to provide few basic details. Please ensure all the information provided by you in the form is correct.  Upon submitting the registration form, you won’t be allowed to make any corrections. Soon, you submit the page; a 6-digit password will be generated. The password will be visible on the screen along with the same will be sent to you via Email and SMS. In case of further login, you just need to enter your email if and unique 6-digit password.

Step 2: Proces the Payment

You can make the payment of application fee online using credit card/debit card/net banking. You’ll receive the payment confirmation via Email and SMS. Or else, you can make the cash payment in SBI bank through challan.

Step 3: Fill up rest part of the form

Once the payment is successful, then you can fill up rest part of the application form. Verify all the details furnished in the form and submit it.

GPAT Application Fee

Candidates will be required to pay the application fee as according to the steps given below:

  • The application fee for the general and OBC category will be Rs. 1400.
  • The application fee for the SC/ST/PwD and female candidates will be Rs. 700/-.
  • The application fee can be paid through Credit card/Debit card/Net Banking.
  • Candidates can pay the application fee through the SBI bank challan as well which will be downloaded while accessing the GPAT application form.

Exam Pattern

The GPAT will be conducted as per the exam pattern fixed by AICTE. The details of the exam pattern have been provided in the following points:

  • GPAT is conducted in online mode. It is a computer-based test.
  • The examination will be comprised of 125 objective questions having multiple choices for the answers.
  • The time duration to solve the question paper will be 3 hours.
  • Each question will be of 4 marks thus total weightage of the question paper will be 500.
  • There will be negative marking of 1 mark for the incorrect response to a question.

GPAT 2023 Syllabus

The GPAT Syllabus will cover the questions and topics of Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) level. The syllabus of the exam will be decided by the conducting body. The subjects or topics covered under the GPAT Syllabus are Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics, Pathophysiology, Clinical Pharmacy and Anatomy, Therapeutics, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Physiology and Health Education, Pharmaceutical Management, Dispensing and Hospital Pharmacy.

Admit Card

The admit card of GPAT 2023 may release in January 2023. Candidates who registered for the exam successfully will be allowed to download their admit card from the official website by entering their registration number and date of birth. The admit card will not send through post or any other offline mode to any candidate. Admit card is an important document which is to be carried at the examination center. Without admit card, no candidate will be allowed to appear in the exam.

GPAT Result

The conducting body has announced the GPAT result 2023 in February 2023. Candidates can check their result along with scorecard by submitting their login details. Candidates are advised to keep their GPAT score card safe till the admission process gets completed. Admission to M.Pharma courses will be given on the basis of candidate’s scores in the GPAT entrance test. Please note down GPAT 2023 score card will be valid for 3 years from the date of result announcement.

GPAT Merit List 2023

After the announcement of the result, All India merit list and state merit list for GPAT 2023 will be published by the conducting authority. The merit list will be decided on the basis marks scored by candidates in the entrance test. The merit list will comprise details like candidate Rank, Total Score, Roll number, and category etc.

Admission Process

There will be no centralized admission process organized by the GPAT exam conducting authority. The process of counselling will be held individually by the every GPAT participating institution. All the candidates have to register separately in each participating institutions/college for attending their counselling procedure. Seats will be allotted on the basis of candidate’s scores in the entrance test.
