Fashion and Design Entrance Exams 2022-2023: Fashion designing is one of the extremely popular career choice made by the candidates after the completion of their high school examination. The career opportunities in this field are also very vast and there are numerous prestigious institutes in the country offering admissions on the basis of the Fashion and Design Entrance Exams 2022-2023.
This article provides you the basic overview of some of the best Fashion and Design Entrance Exams 2021 and the basic eligibility for appearing in these exams.
Eligibility Criteria for Fashion and Design Entrance Exams 2023
For undergraduate admissions:
The candidates who have completed their High School Certificate exam (class 12th) or equivalent can apply for the Fashion and Design Entrance Exams 2022.
For postgraduate admissions:
The candidates with a graduate degree or equivalent with 10+2+3 (minimum) pattern are considered eligible to apply for the postgraduate design degree programmes.
Note: Depending on the institute, the eligibility criteria may vary and so the candidates are advised to follow the official website for specific eligibility criteria.
The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) conducts entrance exam for admissions into its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The entrance test is conducted in offline mode in the month of January and the registration for the same begins from October. Three exams are held for the admission purpose: Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT) and Situation Test (ST).
All India Entrance Examination for Design (AIEED)
The Arch College of Design & Business conducts AIEED to screen the eligible candidates for admission in undergraduate & postgraduate degree courses in Design. The exam which is conducted in online mode (most probably in the month of June) tests the creative and general ability of the candidates.
The Pearl Academy offers admissions into undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma courses in the field of design and fashion. For this, it conducts entrance exam mainly in the month of June. The interested candidates can fill its application form, both through online and offline mode.
Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED)
UCEED organized by the IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) screen the most eligible candidates for granting enrolment in the design courses offered by different participating institutes. The application form is released in the month of October on the official website of the conducting IIT in online mode.
Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED)
The CEED is conducted by IITs for providing admissions into the postgraduate degree courses in the field of design. Enrolment is granted into different IITs in masters’ as well as doctoral (Ph.D) degree programmes. The interested candidates can register themselves in the month of October and the exam is held in January.
The National Institute of Design (NID) conducts Design Aptitude Test for enrolling candidates into its bachelors’ and masters’ degree courses offered in the field of design. Separate exam is conducted for UG and PG admissions in the month of January. The candidates meeting the eligibility requirement can register for this exam.
Indian Institute of Crafts and Design (IICD) Entrance Exam
Admissions in UG and PG degree courses in the Indian Institute of Crafts and Design is offered on the basis of entrance exam. The exam is conducted in two parts (A & B) and the candidates can apply for the exam in online mode. The entrance test Part A is conducted in the month of April and Part B (only for shortlisted candidates) in the month of June.
IIAD Design Aptitude Test (iDAT)
The Indian Institute of Art & Design organizes the Design Aptitude Test (iDAT) with the aim to select the proficient applicants for admissions into design courses. The application form for this exam is provided in both online and offline mode and the exam is held in pen-and-paper mode.
MIT Institute of Design Entrance Exam
The Design Aptitude Test managed by the MIT Institute of Design screens the candidates for admissions in the B.Des and M.Des degree programmes. The interested and eligible candidates can submit their application form for the exam held mainly in the month of April.
SOFT CET
The School of Fashion Technology offers the admissions to the candidates in fashion design degree courses on the basis of the entrance exam, SOFT CET. The school provides enrolment in undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma programmes on the basis of CET + Studio Test + Personal Interview. The test is conducted online and the candidates can submit their application also in online mode.
UID (United world Institute of Design) Entrance Test
The admission in the fashion degree programmes offered by the United world Institute of Design (a constituent college of Karnavati University) is done on the basis of entrance test. The candidates can start filling the application form for this exam from the month of October and the exam is conducted in February.
WLCI All Indian Common Entrance Test (AICET)
To provide admissions in its diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate fashion degree programmes, WLCI conducts common entrance test. Those who fulfill the eligibility criteria can submit their application online. The application form can be filled from November to April and the tests are conducted from January onwards.
GLS Institute of Design Entrance Exam
The GLS Institute of Design conducts design aptitude test in order to offer enrolment to the qualified candidates into its bachelors’ and integrated masters’ programme. The interested candidates can obtain the application form for the entrance test from the Institute or the Official Centres and submit it along with the required documents at the institute.
