The St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research, Thiruvallur is a deemed-to-be university. The institute is presently affiliated to the Anna University, Chennai but soon it is expected to be one of the deemed universities. The institute has been accredited by the NBA, New Delhi and was previously known as St. Peter’s College of Engineering and Technology. The institute offers courses in engineering and higher education. The institute was named as St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research, Thiruvallur in 2008 as by the UGC act, 1956 (section 3). The institute has also been accredited by the NAAC.
The St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research, Thiruvallur was established in the year 1992 by the Lakshmi Saraswathi Educational Trust. The institute is a self-financing institute and all the courses offered here have been approved by the AICTE, New Delhi.
The St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research, Thiruvallur is situated in Avadi in Chennai. The college is about 1.5 km from the Annanur railway station and is 3 km away from the Avadi railway station.
